Hey All! Can you help us? We are doing a drive to collect Tarps. A bit of a long read but worth your time.

Art Penner and Ruth Penner are heading down to the orphanage in Baja on November 5, from British Columbia. They would like to collect as many tarps as possible to fill their vehicle.

Why Tarps? You might ask…Well,
although the homes where the children stay at the orphanage are snug and dry, many people in our area have less than ideal homes, they leak or flood or both! With Winter just around the corner many will be struggling to keep warm and dry.

Being warm and dry helps fight off many health issues for our community families. It is also a lot more comfortable!

We would like to collect as many tarps as we can, preferably new as they are folded so tightly but will take any that are neatly folded up, this will allow us to take more with us, any size is helpful. Most houses are small and made of plywood or are a cinder block shells.

These tarps will be used for floor covers, roofing, window and door coverings etc.

Please PM us to arrange pickup or drop off. We also are accepting donations of cash or e-transfers that we will use to purchase tarps nearer to the Mexico Border to fill the car even more! E-transfer can be sent to [email protected]

Photos from the Race Course. We officially finished in 4th position. We beat the desert this round. It was a super day, we never had a flat thanks to our new rims from Möbelwagen and our Toyo Tires Canada tires. The engine ran perfectly, our only issue was we lost a carburetor spring which was easily replaced and on we raced. None of our parts bins were even cracked open!
Thank you to our Drivers Art Penner and Carmona and our CoDawgs Gerardo Montijo and Juan De Dominguez Padilla for doing excellent driving and navigating. Our Chase plan was flawless and communication actually was possible between the crews and car. Our Chase and Pit Crew were great, Raul Gutierrez Maria De Los Ángeles Garcia Topete Ojeda and Ruth Penner in the Tundra. In the Tacoma also know as taco were Rodrigo Iñiguez Aldecoa Victor aka Raul Iñiguez Tochy . In the Exploradora was . “Well, the desert mountains won this round at race mile 161 when they broke the front end and had to withdraw from the race. So many people helped to make it a fun, safe, albeit abbreviated race. 🙂 The kids loved being a part of it. Two months to make repairs before the grandaddy of them all, the Baja 1000.”
