Your lashes are constantly growing, resting and shedding.

Let's take a look at the growth cycle of our eyelashes 💜✨

Anagen - Growth Phase 🌱
This is the active growth phase. The hair is attached to the derma papilla (blood supply) which helps the lash grow. In this phase, lashes will grow at a rate of 0.12 to 0.14mm per day. The longer a lash stays in this phase, the longer it will grow. The growth phase lasts 4-10 weeks.

Catagen - Transition Phase 🌅
The hair follicles shrink in this phase, detaches from the supply of blood and the eyelash stops growing. While waiting for the next step, the lashes retain length acquired from the Anagen phase. This transition phase lasts 2-3 weeks.

Telogen - Resting Phase 😴
During this phase, lashes remain dormant and rest while baby hairs begin to grow within the hair follicle. The old lash then sheds naturally. Approximately 50% of the lashes are present in this phase at one time. The resting phase lasts for 3-4 months before the lash falls out and returns to the active growth phase.

Early Anagen - Cycle Starts Again 🌷
During Early Anagen, the old lash falls out and a new hair grows in. The cycle starts over again!

Ever wonder why your lashes are shedding? Here's a few reasons why your extensions could be falling out:
•
1. First an foremost, it's totally normal for your extensions to fall out! They fall out as your natural lashes do; which can be from 1 to 5 lashes daily. This is all a part of the growth cycle. More info on this soon!

2. Wearing oild based makeup on the eyes lids like eyeliner will breakdown the lash adhesive over time. Skip the eye makeup or avoid any products with oil in them.

3. You could be forgetting to clean your lashes. Never neglect them. Dirt and bacteria build up on our lashes just like on our skin. They need to be cleaned and cared for DAILY. A cleaner lash, a happier client (and lash tech!).

4. Do NOT touch those lashes! Whenever you touch them, the oils from your fingers will transfer and lashes could tangle. Don't touch them, BRUSH THEM! Like, multiple times a day please!

5. Believe it or not, weather conditions also have an effect on your lashes. Wind can cause your eyes to water which leads to wiping the tears and rubbing the lash line. Entering humid environments directly after a lash appointment can impact the during process of the extensions. Be mindful of where you go.
