The Government of Canada will release the federal budget on April 16. Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland on March 4 announced that this year’s budget will target housing, affordability and economic growth.

Come budget day, there is more incentive on contributing to your RRSP if you are planning to avail of the Home Buyers' Plan (HBP).

The government also announced that the 2024 budget would propose allowing 30-year mortgage amortization for first-time home buyers purchasing newly built homes, effective Aug. 1.
