With over 150 people tested and fit with hearing aids, our mission to Yamasá, Dominican Republic was a success! . Giving the gift of hearing to children in need has been such an amazing experience. Watching someone react to hearing for either the first time, or hearing for the first time in years is an indescribable feeling. . The Story of Luciana and her Mother
Meet Luciana. She was one of our patients who came in with her mother. Both her and her mother found it difficult to communicate with eachother as they both recongnized that they had hearing loss. After further testing, we were able to find hearing aids that would fit best for these two individuals needs. The Gift Of Hearing was able to help both Luciana and her mother restore the communication that was lacking from their hearing loss. With the help of Luciana, we would like to show you the day-to-day basis and process of the Gift of Hearing Foundation! You will see how our patients enter the clinic, testing and fitting! After being fitted with their hearing aids, Lucianas mother looked at her and asked "¿Puedes oírme carino?", which in english means "Can you hear me Sweety?". Luciana looked at her with a big smile on her face and responded "Sí!" In these moments, we are reminded why we do this! Bow River Hearing

Hearing Again...
The smile you make when you can hear your own voice again! This was one of our patients in Yamasa. Years ago, he got into a bike accident which impaired his hearing. He thought he would never be able to hear again. The Gift of Hearing gave him his hope and answered his prayers of one day hearing again. At the end of his fitting, he sat there, staring in a deep thought. You could see he was holding back his tears. After a fe moments, he looked up and said "I am so happy, I want to cry right now".
