We are all sad and frustrated and emotional and BURNT THE F**K OUT But let's just remember - WE ARE ALL IN THIS SH*TSTORM together. I feel shattered. For all of those around me. Those I know and those I've never met in my life. And I truly am heartbroken for all of the loss and suffering each and everyone of us are going through. While this might feel entirely different for you than it does for me; it doesn't make it any more (or any less) and it is still affecting each one of us. Let's just remember - WE ARE ALL IN THIS SH*TSTORM together. Maybe you cry more or swear more or yell more or sleep more or run more or drink more. Dont stop doing more (unless it's inherently harming you!) This is temporary and if it is helping you cope in this exact moment... You do you. This pandemic might feel like it is currently winning and perhaps your faith in humanity has rocked you to your core too But just remember - WE ARE ALL IN THIS SH*TSTORM together. Could we do better? "Eat your vegetables!" One of the very first memories I can recall during meal time is the constant reminder to "eat my vegetables" As soon as I started feeding myself aka buying my own groceries, vegetables were very rarely included in my meals... Like maybe one (or two if fries count 😂) Now with a better understanding of nutrition and the reasons why my parents were clearly so keen on me eating my vegetables. Vegetables (and fruits!) are generally the first thing I'm incorporating in to each meal and I then build around that - aiming to eat at least 4-6 servings per day! So why are vegetables SO important? ✔️ Full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants ✔️ Great source of fibre ✔️ Low calorie/low fat ✔️ Aid in regulation of blood sugar ✔️ Lower blood pressure ✔️ Can protect against diseases and encourage a healthy immune system Because of their high fibre content, vegetables are also great for digestion and being so nutrient dense, you get much more bang for your buck! 😉 Trying to find different ways to incorporate veggies let alone how to cook/prepare them has always been a challenge - especially with a toddler! Enter cauliflower rice! This recipe is quick, easy, and literally requires 3(ish) ingredients! Like it? But HOW you're eating! 🤯 Which one are you 🤔 The distracted eater: - Eats quickly - Engages in distractions* i.e., phone, tv, etc - Doesn't listen to body cues during meals - Often over eats - Never feels full The mindful eater: - Puts the fork down - Enjoys each bite - Eliminates distractions* - Notices body cues i.e., feeling of fullness/satiety - Might not finish all portions *The little humans some of us have to keep alive are the distractions we HAVE to pay attention to 😂 Happy eating everyone! 💕
