Safety first! One technique we use to know that we are in a safe place is aspirating. This is where we insert the needle into the desired area of the face and withdraw the plunger of the syringe in hopes of no blood return.

Blood in the needle after aspirating means that the needle has entered a vessel. If filler blocks the artery it will cut off blood supply which can lead to serious complications.

Although aspirating does not always mean you’re in a safe area, it is an additional step to avoid complications.

Ensuring the safety of my patients is my top priority🤍
