There’s something special about Humble Warrior. Perhaps it’s the strength in being humble or perhaps it’s the yin and yang, balance of what the pose represents. Humility and fighter. Whatever it is, I love this asana. I also like the Sanskrit name Baddha Virabhadrasana.
I can’t stop emphasizing the importance of backbends for overall wellbeing and to counter the forward hunching we do daily. These are just a few back-bending poses.
Enhance balance and coordination. Improve posture and alignment. Increase body awareness while strengthening feet, ankles, knees, legs, and hips with balancing poses.
Eagle pose can be challenging when you’re standing and balancing so you may want to to try supine eagle pose as demonstrated in the video.
Our bodies were made to move so do it often and with awareness and intention. Get the most out whatever type of movement or exercise you do. Keep your body, mind, and soul healthy.
Here are some benefits of balancing poses:
Increases focus.
Strengthens legs, ankles, and glutes.
Promotes good posture from the use of core muscles.
Improves balance and stability.
All of these are key to aging gracefully.
Rolling the hands, arms, and shoulders. This is a great warm up move. Try it!
Bridge, supported bridge, and legs up. Theses are great restorative calming poses. These poses counter our regular and daily postures by improving circulation from lower extremities and draining fluids.
This is a great level one mini flow with open hips engaging the entire body: legs, shoulders, arms, abs, and back. It’s optional to use blocks for support.
