Sue's TOP 6 THANKSGIVING "MAINTENANCE STRATEGIES"!!!π¦ππ
There are bound to be a few extra indulgences this weekend! Here are a few tips to help you keep (mostly) on track with your goals :
1. HYDRATE!!! Staying well hydrated will be key to help flush any extra calories, for detoxification, and, often thirst is mistaken for hunger! Also, alternating one alcoholic drink with one water (or sparkling water!) will help keep alcohol consumption a little more moderate (because that can quickly add up to a LOT of extra empty calories!!!)
2. HIIT WORKOUT BEFORE THE GATHERING!!! This will create AFTERBURN π₯π₯π₯, so your body will be more likely to BURN the extra calories consumed, as opposed to storing them as bodyfat! (Watch for my NEW 20 minute HIIT SESSION this weekend on my YouTube Channel - Sue McHardy!)
3. EAT LIGHTER ON THE DAY OF THE GATHERING! Save some of your daily calorie budget for the big meal!
4. MOVE YOUR BODY!!! Stay ACTIVE as much as possible this weekend to help offset the extra calories. Bonus points if you take a family walk after the big dinner!!! This will help BRING YOUR BLOOD SUGAR DOWN!!!
5. Enjoy a few of your favorite things IN MODERATION!!! Watch portion sizes. Eat until you're 80% full only!
6. MOVE FORWARD!!! One larger meal isn't going to completely kill your progress. Just get back on track the next day-- consider fasting the next day until noon, take a nice walk and drink LOTS of water the next day to help FLUSH!!!

FALL RECIPE ALERT!!!ππππππ
GF PROTEIN PUMPKIN BARS ππππ
in a large bowl, mix:
β’ 1 1/2 cup GF oats (blend 1 cup of this into a fine powder in your blender or magic bullet)
β’ 1/2 cup Vanilla Vegan Protein Powder
β’ 1 1/2 cups Pumpkin Puree (high in Vitamin A!)
β’ 1/2 cup Almond Butter (or nut butter of choice)
β’ 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
β’ 1 tbsp Cinnamon (valances blood sugar!)
β’ 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
β’ 3 tbsp dark chocolate chips
Spread into a prepared 9 by 9 baking pan, and bake at 350F for 13-15 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes, then cut into bars, and enjoy with LF Greek Yogurt as a DELICIOUS, HIGH PROTEIN breakfast or snack.

FALL RECIPE ALERT!!!ππππππ
One of my favorite recipes of ALL TIME (and that is saying a LOT!): PUMPKIN PALEO LOAF!!!π
In a large bowl, mix:
β’ 1 cup Almond Flour
β’ 1 tsp ground cinnamon
β’ 1/4 tsp each ground nutmeg and ginger
β’ 1/2 tsp each baking powder and baking soda
β’ 1/4 tsp unrefined Sea Salt
In a second large bowl, mix:
β’ 2 free range, organic eggs
β’ 1/2 cup Almond Butter
β’ 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
β’ 2/3 cup pumpkin puree
β’ 1 tsp vanilla extract
β’ 1 tsp Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, and spread into a prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle with a few dark chocolate chips, dried cranberries, or pepitas (optional). Bake at 350F for 35-45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
I usually make 2-3 loaves at a time - it will freeze well, and it's always nice to have a healthy treat to pull out in a pinch!
This super easy, moist, DELICIOUS recipe makes an excellent HEALTHY SNACK, or a great dessert to bring to a Thanksgiving gathering!π Bon Appetit!!!πͺπβ₯οΈ
