With that, when injecting filler to the chin area, all injectors should recognize the course of the ascending mental artery and use the appropriate techniques to avoid vascular injury during chin filler placement.

Meet our founder and lead facilitator Kimber Leavitt.

Kimber is the founder and owner of Frida Beauty Bar, which was established in July 2017. Kimber finished her Bachelors of Nursing degree at the University of Lethbridge in 2012 and moved immediately to the states to work in the Emergency Department. Although she enjoyed building on her critical skills, she felt like she lacked creativity in her work environment. She ended up shifting and joining an award-winning cosmetic surgeon in a plastic surgery clinic. This is where her love for medical aesthetics began.

Kimber has always felt like creating, and design comes naturally to her, making her job feel effortless for the first time in her life. After moving to Calgary in 2016, she realized most medical spas felt clinical and didn’t appeal to a younger demographic. This is what inspired the design and infancy of Frida Beauty Bar. Kimber wanted Frida to be a space where people felt comfortable and welcome. Although Botox and fillers are clinical, she didn’t want the client to feel that impersonal clinical vibe. It ended up being busier than anticipated, and the need for a second location in 2019. Simultaneously Kimber recognized that education for cosmetic injectables was quite primitive.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DYSPORT, BOTOX AND XEOMIN?⁠

The main distinction lies in their formulation, which influences the dosage used, how much the product spreads, and how quickly a patient might see the results.⁠
⁠
Botox Cosmetic is formulated with an accompanying protein. Dysport contains a smaller version of a similar protein, while Xeomin doesn’t contain an accompanying protein at all. ⁠
⁠
All three products are FDA approved and have been used safely and effectively for years. Which of these products is best for you will depend on your unique anatomy, your goals, and your injectors recommendations.

RECONSISTUTION OF BOTOX AND DYSPORT

To deliver the results patients want, Neuromodulators have to be stored and reconstituted the correct way.

Neuromodulators are stored as freezer dried powders to preserve the product. Before injection, neuromodulators require reconstitution with 1mL bacteriostatic sodium chloride.

After reconstitution, neuromodulator vials need to be stored in the fridge at a temperature between 2-8 degrees Celsius.
