November 21st is CKUA’s 95th birthday! We are proud to support Alberta’s public radio station – the oldest of its kind in Canada. The CKUA Radio Network is handmade organic radio and is Alberta’s voice for music, arts, & culture. Tune in on Monday for a day full of special programming. As always, each show is handmade and curated by its host – there will be birthday wishes from special guests, festive music, and flashbacks to CKUA moments between now and 1927. If you’re in Edmonton, keep your eye on the river valley as the High Level Bridge will be lit up in CKUA yellow. In Calgary, the iconic Calgary Tower will be lit up on Tuesday to celebrate this 95 year milestone. If you’re a beer fan like us, three of Alberta’s best breweries have teamed up to release a special collaboration brew. The Establishment Brewing Company, Blindman Brewing, and Bent Stick Brewing Co. have joined forces to bring us the aptly named “Multiple Transmitters”. Proceeds from this yummy Dortmunder Lager go towards supporting CKUA, so get on down to any (or all) of these fine taprooms and pick yours up today. (We already have!) CKUA is truly a provincial treasure – there is nothing like this radio station anywhere else in Canada, and perhaps the world. We are leaders when it comes to training. This week we are in Georgia visiting our tankless water heater supplier Rinnai. We also toured the Walking Dead film set.
