The weather got be in a mood today! Warm and breezy. With a touch of sunshine and a little rainfall. It just felt so much like Spring! 🌷

As a nurse in these strange times, I have a continuous heightened sense of safety when I am at work. On my first day off you can usually find me relaxing and turning my mind to a great Netflix find or a good book to read! 📖

When your kids get older and are scattered across the province, the times together are cherished! This picture taken on a late spring day in 2020 when there were warmer temperatures! A promise of warmer days ahead my friends! 🌞

Yes, I am that person who decorates her bed for just about any season! Up to, and including Valentines Day!

It was the perfect time to make use of some red gingham material I had sitting around and added a large ruffle to some old pillow cases that were in the donate bin! ❤️

Anyone want a tutorial? It was so easy really!

It’s a coffee and chocolate breakfast this morning! If there is a better time for this than Valentines Day I don’t know when is! ❤️

Today, I feel hope! A new day has arrived!

This morning while posting my Day 5 of my I posted something I was thankful for accomplishing today! And getting this room sparkling and shining was definitely on my list today and it just made me smile to see it all tidied and dust free! 😊

Richard and I spend a great deal of time in this room in the evenings and it is so peaceful and calm! And tonight it will be a clean, restful place to come to. 😌

What are you hoping to get accomplished today?

Well, I guess I didn’t put all the decorations away! I did leave out just a little something to brighten up the front hall during those first few months of the year. ❄️

The added bonus is I’ve added some pre-timed lights to that cute little tree. So, in the evening, the dark front hall twinkles as soon as it gets dark and is just the perfect touch to warming the place up a little. 💡

I am so thankful for that extra light in the evening this time of year! This also makes me think of other things I am grateful for. Join me over on my stories for the next 21 days for to help you consider things to be grateful and thankful for. 🙏

What better way to start the year then with crisp, white hotel-like linens on a cozy winter bed!

Nothing gives me greater pleasure to have a cozy bed to crawl into at night! Clean sheets, comfortable blankets and plush pillows with the softest pillow cases (yes, I iron all of my pillow cases!) makes for a very inviting bed at night! 🛌

Are you a pillow fan or a pillow hoarder? Like me? 🤣

No one can deny the strangeness of the past year! But Richard and I wanted to say that we hope your 2021 is filled with love, laughter, good health and continued safeness as we continue to navigate COVID and the way it affects us! 😷

There have been lots of new people around here in the last few weeks. So I thought I would come on here and say a quick hello and thank you for joining me here. 😘

I love that you have. I hope you get even the tiniest amount of inspiration from my page and posts. I also hope that my sense of gratitude for life speaks through my posts! 🙏

I like to style my home and am frequently changing where something sits. I LOVE to organize just about anything! I work full time as a critical care nurse and fit all of my projects in during my days off. Stay tuned during 2021 because I plan on trying more projects on my own and learning how to use more power tools. 🛠

So if you stick around, I hope to inspire you with more plans and projects in 2021! Thanks for being here! I really appreciate it! ❤️

Wow! What a holiday that was! Went nowhere! Saw no one! Haven’t been out of the house in days except for a walk! Lots of FaceTime calls! Thank God I had my people around me! They made it the best of a crazy situation. ❤️

Looking forward to winding down now, taking down the Christmas decorations and cleaning up the house.

The simple things will bring us the joy in the coming months! 😘

Years ago, and still today, my Mom would say that her favorite gift was to have her family around her. As I age, I have to say that I totally understand how she feels! Our family get together will be very small this year but it will be even bigger and brighter next year! God bless to all our family and friends as we remember the reason for the season! And really, waking up to this fresh snow is the gift we all needed this morning! ❤️

When you decide to add a little something to your wall and it turns out better than expected!

I was introduced to Peel and Stick Wallpaper by ! And I was intrigued by how Michele made the application look so simple. Now having done a full wall, it is easy but is time consuming and fussy if you want it done right and you are slightly OCD as I am. But I am so happy with how it turned out! I did this all by my lonesome! All the measuring, cutting and application. A few minor mishaps but what DIY doesn’t have that. I learned a lot along the way and really will use this product again! Thanks Michele! I love how it turned out!

I also got two new mirrors from which fit perfectly and provide depth and light into our room. I also had two lamps in the room which I just spray painted with Satin Black. And wow, what a difference that made!

Am I crazy for tackling this right before the holidays? Absolutely! But it’s done and Richard and I are so pleased!

Hello First Day of Winter!

And if I am being honest, it’s my favorite day of the year! Because the days start getting longer starting tomorrow.

And that is the best Christmas gift if you ask me!

Sometimes you just have to be thankful for what you have in your life! And pray there will be some “Joy” this holiday season!

Prepping for the holidays has been just a little different this year. It hasn’t been about who is coming over and how the place will look. And more about how I am doing all of this for just us! To create some “Joy” for us!

So I will continue to pretty the place up, do all the baking and wrap all the gifts! Just for the five of us! 🎄

What is it about Christmas trees? The sparkly lights! The decorations! The ornaments that bring back memories!

I’m sure it is a combination of it all. I just know when I come downstairs on a dark morning, get my coffee ready and turn on the lights; I am immediately in a better mood! 🎄❤️🎄

It’s a pretty table set for four and I really wish I was having people over. But alas, I was just playing around with some ideas today. I think this year will call for simple, festive tables of white, red and green!
