While we thought the last two days were great, today was absolutely amazing. We were so busy we navigated people through our home consistently 10 to 20 at a time for 7 hours straight. It was wild.

Thank you so much Barrie, Diana, Stephen, Allen, Charles, Bill, Ramona, Laurie, Mimi and Hannah for rolling up your sleeves with your can-do attitude. Your positive energy and commitment were appreciated more than words can say.

Thank you too to all those who toured our tiny home these last 3 days and fueled our passion with your wows and oohs and ahhs and other more specific positive compliments. Your excitement for what we offer has inspired us with confidence that we're on the right track. This is a wonderful gift for which we are profoundly thankful.

If you've been following the progression of the tiny home movement in Canada, you know that there is a burgeoning desire within our population to address issues of housing availability. And with very good reason.

The federal government has indicated that we can expect an immigration influx of approximately 500,000 people into our country every year for the next several years. That's a significant population increase for a country that is already experiencing a housing shortage. So the question is not simply rhetorical - how are we going to manage this issue?

Now to be fair, all levels of government (federal, provincial, and municipal) are taking steps to address the shortage. They're telling us that they are streamlining development and construction approvals so that more homes can be built at a quicker pace. But many in the construction sector raise questions of viability, arguing that the shortage in housing is partly due to there being a shortage of skilled tradespeople. We're already building at or near capacity, they say. And to build more homes at a quicker pace seems unrealistic, unless there is a fundamental change of some sort.

Enter the tiny home solution.

We believe that tiny homes represent a viable answer to this housing conundrum. Why? Because instead of taking 6 to 8 months to build a single home, we can build a fully functioning, fully warrantied, building code compliant tiny home in 6 to 8 weeks. That's 6 to 8 weeks for a single dwelling unit verses 6 to 8 months. As tiny homes continue to gain broader acceptance in the real estate market, we believe that the viability of this solution will become more and more apparent to everyone.

Now admittedly of course, tiny homes are not for just anybody. Lots of people are at a place in life where a tiny home would be impractical on a variety of levels. It simply wouldn't work for them. But then again, neither is renting an apartment for everyone. And neither is living in a 3-bedroom single detached two-story home suitable or necessary in many cases. There are different strokes for different folks.

Which again is a primary reason for us to occupy this space. As a tiny home manufacturer we are committed to providing homes and properties for any and all who might think of tiny homes as a viable option for them.

We'll talk more about that in future posts. But for now let me say simply thank you for engaging us in this exciting topic and joining us on the journey. We so appreciate the encouragement, and we look forward to all the ways we can and hope to reciprocate.
