With a recirculation line, not only do you get instant hot water, you also save water, and cut down on energy bills.

Enjoy comfort and efficiency in every drop!

This is a big no-no as far as drainage goes.

When this drain was installed, someone routed it straight to the floor, instead of routing it up to the middle of the inside wall and installing a p-trap.

It would be a pretty major operation to repair at this point, but is absolutely what should be done in this situation. The real answer however, is to have the right person install it in the first place.

Remember folks, you pay for what you get so, sometimes, the cheapest option is not the best.

Has your gas meter been swapped for a new digital meter yet?

has begun making these changes in town and we've spotted our first one.

If you search "Gas AMI project" you can learn more about this initiative. When you receive your new unit, you will be able access to access your usage online, as well as remote shut off during an emergency.

This is a huge upgrade for Fortis whose infrastructure hasn't changed substantially in over 100 years.

In this line of business, we're lucky enough to have FREE furniture fall in our laps often!

Coming soon to our office is a line-up of old toilets refurbished into seating, or whatever, for our clientele to enjoy while they wait.

HAHAHA - this is obviously a joke, but how can we resist ourselves when a toilet is left in the perfect place for a photo op.

Following up on our apprenticeship program post, we wanted to introduce our apprentice, Steve!

We were lucky to take this brainiac on in 2023. He is currently in his 3rd year of the apprenticeship program and working on his hours.

Our client was experiencing backing up and pooling from their perimeter drain so they called us to diagnose and repair the problem.

Upon investigation (and ALOT of digging), we found the drainage was never tied in to the city storm drain.

This required a vacuum truck from our friends over at to have the build-up removed.

We then went ahead and did what should have been done in the first place, tying this perimeter drain into the city's storm sewer once and for all.

Thankfully this wasn't sewage, am I right?

As tradespeople, apprenticing is essential for our careers.

All plumbers and gasfitters need to apprentice as part of their education each year to move on in their program.

Each year, it starts with 6 weeks of learning followed by 1575 hours on the job. This happens for 4 years until the apprentice becomes a Red Seal Plumber or Gasfitter.

Also important to note, BC has now divided these trades (plumbing/gasfitting), which used to be done together.

As a family run business we really enjoy.. you guessed it.. our family!

This is the primary reason we do not offer emergency service. Although we would love to have someone available on call for emergencies, we check with our crew and if someone is willing and able they will head out.

Not only does Labour day mark the return to school here in Campbell River, it's also a nod to workers nationally.

Since 1894, it is always on the first Monday of September. There were actually many public demonstrations to push for the balanced work day. 8 hours for work, 8 hours for play and 8 hours for sleep.

We hope you enjoy this day off and give yourself (and others) a pat on the back for the all the hard work put in throughout the last year. Also don't forget the superstition not to wear white after today ;)
