⭐️Meet our instructors!⭐️

Anika began her dance career at a young age and danced competitively with Shelley's Dance Company for many years. She actively participated in both dance and figure skating competitions, taking as many classes as she could to increase her training. Anika participated in Alberta Ballet's The Nutcracker Christmas performances from 2010 -2014, working with company dancers and other dancers from the Edmonton area. She has had the opportunity to compete at Dance Power in Las Vegas and has performed in Disneyland as a Disney Parade dancer.
Anika is a highly decorated dancer, competing on Team Canada in the World Dance Championships in both Germany (2016) and Poland (2017). She has won over 250 competitive medals and 50 different schaolarships during her competitive dance career.
Anika has student taught many different classes at Shelley's Dance Company including acro dance and continues to work with young dancers today. She aspires share her love of dance with our VIBE dancers and is continually training to increase her skill set.

⭐️Meet our instructors! ⭐️

At the age of 4, Kaleigh began dancing at Georgina’s Academy of Dance and is now trained in all styles including Cecchetti ballet, Al Gilbert tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre, and various styles of hip-hop. She has trained at many studios in and around Edmonton: Dance Fusion Academy of Dance, Edmonton School of Ballet, and 3rd Street Beat. As a dancer, Kaleigh has competed at numerous dance festivals and competitions across Alberta winning awards for her solo and group performances. As an instructor, she has received various awards for choreography, performance, and adjudicator’s choice. Kaleigh has attended international conventions including Los Angeles Dance Force Intensive (San Francisco), Manhattan Dance Project (Hollywood), Groove Street Productions, and trained with renowned instructors including Bradley “Shooz” Rapier, ShoTyme, Eric Malapad, Luther Brown, Harj Rai, Cameron McKinlay, Shay Kuebler, Alex Pesusich, Joanne Pesusich, Carlo Atienza, Kerry Koble, Curtis Ledger, Gail Ledger, to name a few. Currently, Kaleigh works as a Registered Nurse and continues to grow her passion for dance.

Max won a scholarship to VIBE Dance Event at Catch A Rising Star dance festival in Drumheller this last season! We can’t wait for them to join us in our amazing day!

⭐️Meet Your Instructor⭐️

Hunter Jackson is a talented dancer, choreographer, and performer from Calgary, Alberta. He has a strong passion for hip hop dance, history, and culture especially when it comes to locking, animation, and popping. Hunter has trained under some amazing Alberta locals suck as Edgar Reyes, Katherine Burrows, Cody Jaxon, Hannah Joelle, Lukas Lock, and Harman Baweja in addition to many other out-of-province dancers such as Stixx, Suga Pop, Shabba Doo, Roberta Bierman and many others! Ever since the age of 10, Hunter’s drive to learn and passion for dance has allowed him to train and compete all over Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

He is super excited to be invited to teach at the VIBE Dance Event and can’t wait to share what he has learned over the years with the amazing students taking part!

Charleigh won a scholarship to VIBE last season at Galaxy Dance Festival and we are so excited to see her talent this season!

Jocelyn Olsen is a highly decorated and award winning choreographer and dancers from Camrose, AB. She has studied internationally in Los Angeles, and New York City and hold credentials in Al Gilbert tap, Edmonton School of Ballet Juniors Examinations, and the Cecchetti Society of Canada. Jocelyn has trained under some of the biggest names in the business including choreographers such as Diana Blackburn, Robert Taylor Jr., John Rua, Stixx, and Justine Menter Fink. She has trained in jazz, ballet, tap, hip hop, lyrical, modern and contemporary throughout her 22 years of technical training.

Jocelyn is thrilled to be returning to VIBE to share her love of choreography with students from all over the province. It will be a great day of dancing!

Cassandra Olsen-Draper is an award winning dancer and choreographer from Camrose AB. She has studied internationally in Los Angeles and New York working with many esteemed choreographers including Diana Blackburn, Stixx, and Robert Taylor Jr. She has credentials with the Cecchetti Society of Canada including her Cecchetti Advanced 1 Examination, as well as her Al Gilbert Tap 9 examination. She has studied jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary and hip hop comprehensively as well in her 24 years of technical dance training.

In light of recent COVID-19 related developments in the Camrose community and in discussion with other local officials, it is with a heavy heart that we will be postponing VIBE Dance Event to a later date in order to ensure the safety of all of our dancers and instructors.

Keeping dancers safe is our number one priority. With rising case numbers in Camrose and the community being declared a watch zone this week, we have decided to postpone the event to a later date when COVID cases fall.

Thank you to everyone who registered! We sold out our Intermediate division and nearly sold out the Advanced division. We hope to see everyone there at our new date. Your tickets will be refunded within the coming week.

We look forward to welcoming dancers back to VIBE dance event when it is safe to do so.

Meet our instructors!

Hunter Jackson began his Hip Hop training at the age of 10. Since then he has continued his focus in the Urban and Hip Hop realms of Dance.

Hunter has trained with various choreographers such as Luther Brown, Show Tyme, and Shabba Doo as well as dance related projects including music videos, Sweet Charity (Theatre Production) and Tribulations (Dance Production choreographed by Hannah Joelle). He has won multiple awards through his many competitions and trained in LA, Las Vegas and performed in Toronto Canada.

Due to his love of Hip Hop, Hunter now shares he’s passion and knowledge of dance through teaching. He hopes to expand his career whilst also sharing it with others and is excited to be teaching at VIBE this year!
