Poem from a few years back.
The Get Up and Go Blues (something to make you smile)
Ain’t got no oomph
Avoiding the stairs
Can’t move my girth
To get out of my chair.
I’m settled right in
With fleece and hot fan
The chips on the left
Some pop in the can
I wanted to walk
Planned the whole route
Couldn’t find my I Watch
Might drop this pursuit
Looked for my runners
I think they were blue
Maybe they left
‘Cause they had nothing to do.
Got the get up and go blues
The weather’s a bust
I’m groaning and ‘plaining
And turning to rust.
Got the get up and go blues
But I’ll do my part
To get motivated
If I could just start.
What was that spark
I felt for a minute
It was so familiar
I really felt in it.
Reminded me somewhat
Of get up and go
But soon as it came
It decided to go.
Got the get up and go blues
The weather’s a bust
