Love this team! Thankful that I get to do this!
These 3P’s will help you deal with anxiety and stress.
Side note,
Do you know how often God talks about not being fearful in the Bible?
365 times.
Once for every day of the year.
That tells me two things.
One, anxiety is real and harmful.
Two, He cares.
So, if you’re struggling with anxiety and fear, be reminded of what Paul said in Philippians 4:6-7 about not being fearful.
If you haven’t read it, go and read it.
Okay, saying don’t fear is one thing, but what are the practical steps?
The 3P’s, the 3 antidotes Paul offers to break the cycle of worrying.
#1 - Prayer
Present your worries to God. Let go of your mental turmoil and trust God’s sovereign power over your circumstances.
#2 - Petition
Make an earnest request to the One who has the authority to intervene. His power is strong enough to mend what’s broken in your life.
#3 - Praise
Giving thanks protects our hearts. Adoration loosens anxiety’s grip. Thank God for a breathtaking sunset, beautiful trees, oxygen in the air, rain falling, hot chocolate or tea on a cold day or anything else you see. We can always find something to thank God for.
If you do this, it will create for you a habit of going to the Father with everything.
And He promises that if you do that, you will no longer suffer from worrying about anything and live in peace.
Small groups are important. 中文👇🏼
Being in corporate worship and attending corporate sermons are great but I’m grateful that Jesus emphasized the importance of being in a small group.
In Hebrews 10:24~25 it says, “… let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Then, in Acts 2:42~47 it says, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
Intimacy is key as we naturally are made for deep relationships.
Make sure you are connected with a few trusted brothers and sisters who will build each other up in Christ.
Today, I’d like to share an eye-opening story of a Roman Centurion.
In Matthew 8:5~13, Matthew talks about the Faith of a Roman Centurion.
When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a Roman Centurion came to Jesus to beg for Him to heal one of his loyal servants.
When Jesus said yes, “I will come and heal him.”
The Centurion’s and Jesus’ further conversation with Him was eye-opening.
The Centurion said, “Lord I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go’, and he comes, ‘Come’, and he comes…”
Jesus marvelled and said, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. I tell you many will come from east and west and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, while sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
What a great reminder, that just because you go to church or get baptized or get to say you love Jesus or looking like you’re a part of the church, but your heart says otherwise, you don’t know His Living Word and the fruits you produce don’t align with the fruit of the Spirit…
Well, don’t be surprised when the Lord doesn’t recognize you, when the time comes.
Instead, seek to have a faith like the centurion.
Reminder of the day 🔥
Reminder of the day! 🙌🏻
This is what I needed to hear today.
And, I hope this will be a blessing for you too.
Psalm 95:6 says, “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!”
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or exhausted, grateful or expectant, joyful or grievous, encouraged or frustrated…
Come to the Lord for He is good, loving and the source of our strength to face the day and things that are in front of us. Blessings.
One of ‘s best reminders I received this past Sunday was this understanding of Faith.
Faith is not a feeling.
Faith is not about living a life with no problems and no struggles.
Faith is not about having the perfect stress-free life.
Then, what is Faith about?
Like Paul described in Ephesians 6:16, “…above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”
Your faith in Christ is your shield against all enemies.
Expect attacks. Expect it and have Hope in God when he says He will protect you and that all things on this will pass.
Don’t be ignorant and think no problems will ever come near you.
Friends,
In His grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.
So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you.
If your gift is serving others, serve them well.
If you are a teacher, teach well.
If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging.
If it is giving, give generously.
If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously.
And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. (Romans 12:6-8 NLT)
Commit all that we do for Christ our Lord.
Honour Him with your efforts.
Value the people you interact with.
Return your tithes and offerings faithfully
Live graciously and generously
Utilize your time thoughtfully
Leverage your God-given creativity to glorify Him.
We can plant a seed in good soil, position it for ideal sunlight, and water it consistently, but, above all else, it’s God who gave you the seed and it’s God who makes the seed grow.
Our job is obedience, God’s job is everything else.
So whatever you do, commit your work, your efforts and your life to Him!
Then, watch Him work through you.
What such great news! Amen!
I’ll praise Him when I feel it and I’ll also praise Him when I don’t.
Just because I had crappy day, doesn’t mean God is not amazing.
Just because I’m tired doesn’t mean He’s not turning still turning graves into gardens.
Because, it ain’t about me.
It’s all about Him.
And I have zero problems with that because He is incredible.
He loves perfectly.
He’s my source of wisdom and source of strength to face all that goes before me.
“I had a bad day…” well, I still got air in my lungs, roof over my head, beautiful group of friends and family… Praise the Lord.
But even above all that, God is in Control.
God is above my pain.
God is above my stress.
God is above everything and He heals and He transforms.
Like what Psalm 150 says which is also a great reminder for me to do always:
“Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,
praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.”
Jesus is my Lord, my Heavenly Father, and my Prince of Peace.
He is where my help comes from.
He is the Maker of heaven and earth.
A dose of wisdom that I believe can be very helpful.
