Franco-Ontarian Day - September 25, 2023

Science Fair Day at Viscount Alexander. 🎉 Thanks to all of the students who chose to participate and work on these amazing projects outside of their regular school day. We are PROUD of you all! 🔬🧪👩🏽‍🔬👩‍🔬👨🏾‍🔬👨🏼‍🔬🥼🔭

Today all students participated in a school wide STEAM challenge (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) organized by Mrs. Lalonde and Mrs. Johnsen. Each class was given a limited amount of newsprint paper and tape/glue. Their challenge was to create the longest paper chain they could with the given material in only 15 minutes. Students were able to work individually or in groups. Each class then joined all of their chains to create one longer chain. The 19 classrooms then joined their paper chains to make one VERY long paper chain. The popular prediction was that our chains would combine and be long enough to get from the office all the way to the gym…. Let’s just say we underestimated ourselves.
