Using steam can help manipulate how well your hair absorbs moisture and the products you apply.
Hair steaming involves using moist heat to activate the hair follicle and allow for deeper product pe*******on.
How to steam your hair:
Step 1. Cleanse hair
Step 2. Steam hair for 5 minutes
Step 3. Apply deep conditioner
Step 4. Steam Again for 10 - 30 mins
Step 5. Rinse
Step 6. Continue with your hair regimen.
Benefits of hair steaming:
• It helps with deeper conditioning. Steaming adds extra hydration and allows the ingredients in conditioners to pe*****te deeper into your hair to help repair any damage and breakage and rehydrate from inside the hair shaft outward. Overtime, this will improve elasticity, moisture retention, and softness; which will make your hair more manageable.
• It’s good for low porosity hair. It’s extremely difficult for low porosity hair to absorb moisture especially during colder periods because the hairs cuticle doesn’t open easily. This leads to dryness and lots of product buildup on top of the strand. Using a hair steamer will help eradicate this problem.
• It’s good for high porosity hair. High porosity hair tend to soak up oils and creams more easily, when you open the cuticle up with steam you can help release any grime that has settled in and that your regular cleansing isn’t able to remove. It works the same way to lift the cuticle and clear it out, then restore moisture before you seal it back up.
• It helps with hair growth. While I wouldn’t go as far as to say steaming your hair will grow it out, I can say that steaming encourages blood circulation, calms scalp from irritation and dryness, helps with dandruff and scalp related treatment as well as adds hydration and improves moisture retention thus improves the overall health of your hair, which in return helps with hair growth.
