I fell in love with Sundays when I fell in love with you. New Sunday collection on its way. 🌱
It all comes down to a simple choice: Are you choosing the bear or the man?
There’s a question making rounds on social media: Picture yourself alone and unarmed in the woods. Would you rather encounter a bear or a man? Almost every woman chooses the bear.
For women, the answer is clear and instinctual. A strange man is undeniably a threat. The fear of turning around in the middle of a lonely expanse and seeing a man, with nowhere to run, is deeply ingrained. It’s the plot of countless thrillers and true crime stories. The reality is that men harm women every day, and this fear influences our behavior from a young age.
We are taught to take numerous precautions to stay safe. We’re told to stick together, not walk alone at night, avoid jogging alone in the morning, not to drink too much, and to lock our car doors as soon as we get in. We are advised to avoid wearing headphones too loud on a hike and to wear our hair in a bun instead of a ponytail because a strange man could grab it more easily. Many of us were given pepper spray when we got our driver’s license, just in case.
These safety measures are part of our daily lives because of the ever-present threat of violence from men. It’s a reality that shapes how we move through the world every day.

Fun facts about me + photography:
❥ I’ve been carrying a camera around since I was 8 years old.
❥ I have 130,000 photos on my phone.
❥ This page was originally my photography page before I turned it into Zen Lion.
❥ I’ve allowed imposter syndrome to stop me from pursuing photography.
❥ I’ve grappled with the idea of doing photography as a business for so long because I truly enjoy it and sometimes feel like the need to monetize every hobby we have as humans is so rooted in capitalism and sort of ruins the joy of it. But, I also feel that we should make money doing things we love doing.
Hi, thanks for being here & for trusting me. 📸
Do you have your Sunday running club hoodies yet? Did you also notice that we have athletic tees now!! 🥳
Lil July dump 🔁🌞🌻✨
A lil summer treat from me to you ☀️🍉🫧
Decided to finally stop letting fear hold me back from places I’m meant to be in. Offering my photography sessions at an introductory rate. 🥹🙏🏽
Reflecting on one entire year of sobriety. 🥲🥲 I decided on July 16th last year that that I was done drinking. I didn’t know for how long, I just knew I was done. An entire year has passed and I don’t know that there will ever be a time where I feel like I want to drink now. I’ve made it through summer parties, patios, Christmas gatherings, even VEGAS, I’ve made it through heartbreak and hard days, and alcohol is the last thing on my mind. My life has transformed dramatically in the past two years, but especially in the last year since giving up alcohol. It’s not just the physical effects of alcohol, it was the psychological effects that were negatively impacting my life. Along with poor decision making, alcohol could send me into depression for days or weeks after. My mental health has improved drastically, and of course so has my physical health. My favorite thing in all of this is proving to myself that I indeed have the willpower and discipline to do the things I say I’m going to do, I am so proud of me.
Happy Monday 🌞
Slow Sundays Running Club ❥
This last week was nuts. Between finals (and working in the industry) The end of school, juggling work and life balance, enjoying the first real days of summer, and trying to plan and organize for the next year, I have just been go go go. But I finally feel at peace in my decision, and I just came on here to answer my question that I asked in stories the other day. How do you know when you’re making the right decision?
When something is for me, a person, a place, an experience, it feels like it’s for me. It’s that inner knowing that quietly says, yes, this one. And in the absence of that answer, it’s easy to feel confused. It’s easy to confused fear and anxiety with intuition, not feeling confident that you can fully trust yourself. But as you lean into that trust, you’ll know that those situations that are not a clear YES, are confusing and uncertain because they’re a no.
I feel more at peace now, that I finally made my decision than I have in a year trying to make it. 🧘🏽♀️
Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a day marking the end of slavery in the United States and honoring the resilience and strength of Black Americans.
As we reflect on this significant milestone, we also acknowledge the ongoing suffering and injustices faced by Palestinians.
