This this is the weather in Siem Reap now. I never really considered the weather when I moved here. When I was looking for the best country to retire cheap in, about how affordable it was, how safe, and even English levels. The weather in Cambodia is hot. It will get up to 40°C when it’s scorching. If you’re looking for a hot place to live, Cambodia is a great choice. If you can’t handle the heat, there are seaside cities that are a little cooler.

Regardless of where you go, you’re gonna need money. Here in Cambodia it’s not the most convenient to use credit cards. They do accept them at some places, but you can forget using it at bars or small shops. If you’re coming here to retire, you’re going to want to set up a bank account. I’ve got one from ABA bank, and it’s quite convenient. The other option is to get bank transfers from Western Union.

I learnt Spanish when I spent a year in South America. That’s not because I wanted to but because I had to 🤪
The English there was really not passable. Only the big hotels spoke it, and on most menus there is no translation. Although I loved my time there, it was a nice vacation place not a new home 🏠
That’s why I eventually gave up on living there and moved to Cambodia 🇰🇭😎 Cambodia actually has pretty good English, and even if they don’t speak it most places have dual menus and signs.

I looked at retirement on a cruise and here’s what I found. It’s not that cheap.

I’ve travelling a lot looking for the best countries to retire cheap. When I went to Vietnam, the number one thing I hated about it, was the huge amount of motorcycles. They don’t follow traffic rules and park on the sidewalk. Crossing the street there is really dangerous. They’ll be constantly motorcycles driving against traffic and you’ll have to look both ways before even thinking of crossing!

Hurray! This place is now open. If you’re coming to Siem Reap, I’ll definitely take you there…..and yes that’s a real spider 😉

I’ve found it!
After travelling the world for over a decade. I found the best country to cheap. It’s Cambodia! You can definitely retire here for $1000 a month, that’s living pretty well, with everything you will need food.The English is acceptable , the temperature is acceptable, and visa is great.
