1 doctor 1 story Dr. Melanie Morgan 🚨 The urgency remains real for family and rural medicine as our doctors continue to face significant challenges. The new payment model must be implemented in fall 2024.

May 1st, marks #NationalPhysiciansDay ! We want to highlight “Every Physician, Every Section, Every Day.” Alberta is full of diverse medical sections and specialties. We acknowledge and appreciate all physicians who dedicate time, expertise and enthusiasm to our health care system.

The implementation of the Physician Comprehensive Care Model is a large step in making Alberta an attractive place to recruit new family physicians and keep our current practices viable.

Patient panel sizes range for a variety of reasons, especially in our rural practices. Thank you to all the physicians who wrote to government about their patient circumstances. The minister has heard these concerns and has acknowledged small panels deserve support.

With the new Physician Comprehensive Care Model implemented this fall, our doctors will be able to provide Albertans with quality longitudinal care.
