Winter days have me dreaming of the home of my heart, Cape Breton! This was a creative logo design for Cape Breton Day in Family Medicine where we got to play with the shape of the island paired with the universal icon of healthcare, a stethoscope.
Design isn't exclusively digital. Our lead designer Kate is a print production specialist. That means translating images to physical media, like banners, cards, brochures, wall graphics, and even vehicle decals.
We love working closely with our quality-driven print partners.
We know a gopher isn't a groundhog, but this seems like perfect timing for a throwback to our GoForIt! Delivery Service logo design from 2023. The best part about this brand development was flexing some cartooning muscles for an energetic logo full of character.
What happens if a graphic designer sees their shadow?
Believe it or not, the brand guidelines we create for our clients are one of the most satisfying deliverables we provide. It includes your colour guide, the inspirations we've built into your brand, and also highlights recommended uses.
Our latest branding project might look abstract, but if you're a cardiovascular professional, you'll recognize the colours and shapes of the most commonly used intracoronary imaging platforms.
I'm a graphic designer and not a heart specialist, but we were lucky enough to work with some oddly gorgeous colours and shapes in our reference material for this logo. The brand is for the National Intracoronary Imaging Meeting.
Did that sneak up on anyone else? Happy cozy season! πππΎβ
We do a mix of large- and small-format print design, so business cards are of course a big part of what we provide for clients. Our trusted local print partners in HRM handle most print work for us, but we're always happy to prepare print-ready files for our clients preferred printers too.
Introducing Timber Fox Landscaping! We've had the pleasure of developing a sporty and animated brand for this local Halifax landscaping business. They were looking for a eye-catching logo with a lot of character, so we got to flex our drawing skills to make something fun.
Sneak-peak on a sharp new logo we've been working on this month. It looks even better driving around town!
Fun winter projects with ZREO: Second Quest !
AREN'T THEY ADORABLE!?! πππ (Re)introducing ATLYS - that's Rita, Gen, Jinty, and Sabrina -- theβ¨starsβ¨ of our album coming out soon. They've worked with Seven Lions and now they're partnering with us!

Introducting CanCTO, our most recent branding project for an upcoming event.
We're no doctors, but we aimed to nail this logo brief with surgical precision π― CanCTO is a Canadian cardiology conference specifically focused on CTO (chronic total occlusion) treatment techniques for interventionalists.
In our coming posts, we'll go over the process and concepts behind the development of this brand.
Happy New Year! Let's make some shiny new things in 2023!
This has been a wild year and wonderful year. Thanks so much for everyone's support through 2022 and we can't wait to jump into the new year with some great upcoming projects.
Stay warm and safe over the holidays!
It's rare for us to do personal projects, but this tasty campaign was an exception. Along with a local social media team, we developed a brand identity, logo, and marketing strategy for one of Halifax's restaurant enthusiasts and former Burger Ambassador, Shaun Gillis - a project with many layers, like a well made burger. Check out his flavourful adventures:
Sometimes our favourite designs get used in more unexpected ways. This one will be showing up in a comic book by sometime next year - a fun way to build an environment and narrative.
Speaking of KTE, here's an example of a report we did for the Oxford County LGBTQ+ Needs Assessment research project, to help present findings into more understandable formats - and there were a LOT of data to show!
Knowledge Transfer & Exchange (KTE) is the process of disseminating and exchanging information between knowledge holders (often researchers) and knowledge users. So how does this relate to graphic design? Information needs to be accessible and useful to invoke positive change in policy-making, inform new practices, or share findings. Using clear design meets the needs of the target community or group of stakeholders.
Knowledge exchange is more than fancy graphs. We've worked on numerous unique projects with a variety of community members and research teams with many goals - to educate, motivate, and connect.
Exploring all of the paper weights and finish options for posters and sellsheets remind us of some of the media done for Capture Escape Rooms a while back. Super fun to make movie-style posters for their escape experiences.
We love a minimal logo, but sometimes a successful design also incorporates playful illustration - especially for a local game store, like GameKnight in Dartmouth.
A "frosted" look for these frosty mornings! This is etched vinyl, giving windows a "frosted glass" look with some dynamic colour. Design isn't limited to paper or social media!
Printed by SpeedPro Halifax for Dunbrack Soccer Club.
The marketing materials are in. Networking, face-to-face time, and word-of-mouth are the largest tools for a small business.
to an older poster made with SpeedPro Halifax (the original one was on a sturdy substrate to stand by itself). Love the colours of harvest season.
After a storm like that, landscapers and property maintenance crews are probably pretty busy. Here's an older vehicle wrap we designed using Hunsley & Associates already gorgeous logo (wrapped by SpeedPro Halifax). We can brand up your work vehicle to look professional too, even if you don't have a logo yet or already have a great one you're using.
Less is more.
The logo for Aeryl Creative is a grackle - their eyes are a bright gold and they've got iridescent feathers, making for a rippling blue-green beryl colour. They're a little representation of the type of work we do: sharp, clean, and shiny.
There's always time for fun stuff on the weekends π
to a vehicle wrap for Charger Burger restaurant that we did in partnership with SpeedPro Halifax. It's like a mobile billboard!
Design and illustration go hand-in-hand! For this project, OA-INVOLVE researchers and members of the older adult research partner group (OARPG) wanted a unique and fun way of disseminating best practices for engaging older adults in research. We developed hand-outs, bookmarks, and postcards with their guidance and narratives to bring their ideas to a wider audience.
