we are marching in the pride parade today 🌈🏳️‍🌈

as items in my professional kit start to expire, I've been looking back on my makeup journey and wondering if it is worth it (financially) to replenish it, in order to continue doing makeup for others.

the amount of makeup i have to use on myself is astronomical, and i don't mind using gently expired products on myself, but on others, it's a little different. so herein lies my problem. i love makeup, and i am not ready to give it up.

but then i realized, i don't have to give it up. not completely.

it has taken me a long time to realize that you can (and should) do things that make you happy, even if they aren't profitable. and even though it would be easier if everything we did made us money, it's not feasible. and sometimes, it's okay to do stuff /just/ because you like it.

I've avoided this account and makeup a little bit lately because i haven't touched my kit and between moving & covid, haven't been able to do makeup on someone else in a long time. but i am so excited to say that I am excited again about makeup! I can't wait to re-explore the stuff I have, try new things on myself and do it just because i like it, it makes me feel good about myself, and that's enough. 💖

the most exciting thing about moving for me is that I can finally do makeup again on other people!! I no longer have to put "suspended" next to all of my services on my website, and I can unpack and restock my kit!

I had a photoshoot with to shoot this look for lust as part of their 7-part series on the 7 deadly sins. The photos turned out so well! I'm a little bummed the makeup was subjected to the heat and rubbing of my mask so it did not last as well as I would have hoped, but the photo is beautiful so I'm not complaining 😎 note: the kissed lips and red shadow were part of the look!

no editing or filters on this pic. I'm so sad to know that my favourite setting spray has been discontinued 😔 r.i.p. to the peach mattifying spray. look how good it looks, despite having textured skin. anyone know of any dupes? 💖
