Leaders,
Have you noticed a change in your people - new or senior - since the start of the pandemic?
New needs, new goals, new directions, and how to achieve success is a common change seen across all departments and companies.
If you haven't noticed ➛ maybe you need to ask.
It's as simple as taking 5 minutes out of a call to get everyone on the same page.
Or, sending an email and reaching out individually to get genuine answers from your team about where they're at mentally and emotionally. It all makes a difference.
Be open and encourage the discussion that they might be afraid to approach!

You woke up in the morning and got ready, then drove to work (or walked downstairs to your home office). Your coworker, who isn't as engaged as usual, could have gotten up after a long night of insomnia. Another is at home with a sick child to care for throughout the day. Just as you have your truth, everyone around you has their own truth, specific to them! Be knowledgeable and up to date on the perspectives of those around you and try to lead in ways that compliment your team, rather than control them. 🧡 #CoachingCulture #Perspective #LeadershipDevelopment
Teams that respect and seek out opinions, ideas, feedback and insight from one another are frequently more successful as a company, and more satisfied in their roles. This means that leaders who strive to create meaningful relationships with their team members prioritize the effort to learn about their people, and connect with them on a deeper level. Listen to our principal, Cheryl Breukelman, speak on the topic ↴

🔶 As the restrictions of Covid-19 are lifted and the world settles back into itself, management teams are challenged with the new norms that come with hybrid workplace models. 🔶 They're faced with a new realization, outlined in Josh Bersin's recent report (linked below), of the effect that mental health has on our employees performance and workplace satisfaction. 🔶 Leaders know that they need to be empathetic and flexible when it comes to the communication techniques they use with their team, but they sometimes misconstrue their attempts and forget that at the center of it all - is caring for your people. OUR TIP ➜ let go of the need to control the outcome. Be honest with your team when you don't have the answers - even if its uncomfortable. Explain the situations and it's outcomes, and give your people a voice in the conversation. 🔸 Even if the outcome is not fixed, the difference it makes to the job satisfaction and mental health of your team! 🧡 ⤷ Josh Bersin on Mental Health - https://sloanreview.mit.edu/article/mental-health-has-become-a-business-imperative/?utm_source=linkedin&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sm-direct ______________________________________________________________________ #communication #companyculture #workplacementalhealth #executivecoaching #coachingculture #EpiphanyCoaches #influence #empathy #flexibleleadership #LeadFromWithin #jobsatisfaction #hybridworkmodels #teamdevelopment #leadershipdevelopment
A common question leaders ask of coaching - is it really worth it? The answer lies with you, and what you hope to achieve from your professional success, and personal development. ❔ Are you capable of achieving the same results on your own? Probably. But, it will be with great effort and more superficial understandings of why you are where you are, and how you came to be in that position. Learning the importance of creating connections, interacting with your team and reflecting on your journey is a vital part of the coaching experience. It's the foundation behind why success is achieved so quickly and thoroughly! Investing in a coaching experience brings you new perspectives about the people around you, and gives you chances to make better, more effective moves in your career. ⌛ In the end, you will save time, money, resources and effort by involving yourself in coaching sooner, rather than later! #executivecoaching #coachingprogram #investinyourself #leadershipdevelopment #influence #epiphanycoaches

Simplicity - the state of being uncomplicated Time and time again leaders get caught up with added work that they've made for themselves by trying to do too much! They feel pressure to constantly go above and beyond what's expected of them to gain recognition in their position. Wouldn't success feel even better if it wasn't the cause of burnout? Influence isn't achieved by a straight line to the top, and leaders are starting to understand what their teams really value from them: empathy, compassion, authenticity and honesty. It's simple! ______________________________________________________________________ #empathy #compassionateleadership #workplaceculture #burnout #simplifyyourlife #leadershipcoaching #teamdevelopment
As leaders, we often can feel that it's up to us and us alone to solve problems and remain set in our decisions. What we have learned in the past few years ↴ ✧ The success of an organization does not rely solely on the ones who have #influence, but the cohesion of those in all roles ✧ Leaders must be #flexible to listen to their team and consider their perspectives and ideas - 2 brains are better than 1, and a team of brains is even better than that! ✧Being #empathetic with our employees gives them a voice to validate them and their internal motivators. It makes them feel #valued. ✦ People don't usually leave a company because of the job, they leave because of the toxic work environment. ✦ _______________________________________________________________________ #toxicworkplace #creatingconnections #workplacewellbeing #mindfulleadership #successfulleadership #executivecoaching #leadershipdevelopment #thegreatresignation
🔸 How do you approach giving feedback to your team? 🔸 One roadblock in leader-to-team connections occurs when managers treat individuals as a job instead of as a person. The employees start feeling that they lack value in their workplace, and that their unique situations are irrelevant. We want to change this way of thinking! Adopt a human-first approach and see how it changes communication with your employees. When giving feedback → don't add it to the schedule as task management, but instead consider it professional development by using direct, but kind, conversation skills. #management #development #connections #leadershipdevelopment #managementskills #compassionateleadership #kindness #feedback #empathymatters
This year, the leadership focus is on the #EmployeeExperience and #Authentic, #AgileLeadership. →We want to get to know our team, and create relationships with them based on trust, support and compassion! → As we discussed yesterday, employees are struggling with new work models and embracing their worth when considering jobs they want (and want to leave). → We all have a different perspectives because we all have different lives. It would be unfair to pretend that what goes on in the personal lives of our team does not affect their performances at work, and that's why it is so important to put ourselves in their shoes! _______________________________________________________________________ #leadershipdevelopment #coachingculture #workplacerelationships #perspective #retainingtalent #highpotentials #influence
Embracing a flexible work model is a change to the business world that organizations will inevitably have to embrace, in order to retain and attain high potential employees. As leaders, we must invest in these new practices to stay up to date and create a positive workplace culture. ➔ Unless our employees have engaged in coaching sessions, leaders are responsible for how their actions affect the well-being of employees while at work - that means being authentic! ➔ Owning up to mistakes, being transparent about challenges and seeking out open minded suggestions are all qualities of agile leadership. Without a strong foundation, it is an uphill battle to making connections and building relationships. Here are 3 barriers to flexible work for leaders to consider: ❶ Social Norms - employees have become comfortable with current routines, and are resistant to change in organizational culture ❷ Fear of Judgement - concern about what those in positions of power will think/say about those who do embrace the beneficial change ❸ Individual Lifestyles - some may be resistant to change because of the possibility of uprooting their current routines and habits Consider how authentic you are at work with the following article, "Drive Influence Using Authenticity in the Workplace" https://epiphanycoaches.com/2022/02/drive-influence-using-authenticity-in-the-workplace/ #leadershipdevelopment #leadfromwithin #coachingculture #companyculture #authenticleadership #authenticityatwork #influence #influentialleadership #flexibleworking #flexibleworkplace
#AgileLeadership is leadership method that focuses on listening to our employees needs, and taking proactive action to remove obstacles from their path to success. This doesn't mean getting in the way of our employees work and "micro-managing" them, but using subtle practices that will promote their #productivity. It benefits them as well as the company! For example, a new manager to a company would use agile leadership to get to know their employees and understand their preferences when it comes to being managed. Leading a new group using previous outdated methods can lead to conflict and actually damage the #employeeexperience. That's why it is so important to know where we stand with our team, and put in the effort to come to true understandings with them about how the office will perform. Reaching out and talking with our teams about simply how they are doing is just one way of investing in them as individuals and validating them as team members. There are so many ways you can focus on connection! EMPATHY RULES A leadership quality that is highlighted on every leadership information platform, including #hbr articles. Consider these 4 rules to show your team empathetic leadership. Empathy can help us to navigate the business world where every organization and team plays by different rules, taking different paths to reach success. This realm of uncertainty was coined "anomie" by sociologist Emile Durkheim, and also applies to situations outside of the workplace. ➩ Embrace "Not Knowing" - Recognize that you don't know everything and you may not be able to understand, but make the effort anyway ➩ Embrace Radical Differences - Do you trust the words of a people pleaser? stop being afraid of conflict - it's what makes you human! ➩ Embrace Commitment - Consistency is important to employees, and showing your interest/concern for them is not something that you can walk away from without relationship conflict ➩ Embrace Community - Feeling heard and knowing that their situation has been taken into account creates a feeling of inclusion that can only boost workplace success for your team members Empathy isn't altruistic, and it fights anomie. Use these four rules to cultivate respect and better yourself for everyone you interact with. #leadership #community #success #respect #empathy #inclusion #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #coachingskills #coachingprogram #leadershipcoaching #influence #anomie #harvardbusinessreview #executivecoaching #leadfromwithin **glitch from 00:19 00:26.
Continuing the conversation on #AgileLeadership, #Agility has always been on the radar when considering #InfluentialLeadership, but with the costs associated with the pandemic it is more critical than ever. With changing environments, workloads and services for our employees, we must be able to see the problems clearly and make quick decisions to solve them. This requires us as leaders to be #flexible to the unique needs of each team member and to push for increased #collaboration. Start practicing Agile Leadership by, ➀ Encouraging expression, experimentation, and creativity ➁ Practicing effective & efficient decision making ➂ Robust communication ➃ Collaborating for team-building opportunities ➄ Using the tools available for your team #leadershipdevelopment #coachingprogram #employeeengagment
"#TheGreatResignation", a trend that seems to be here to stay as individuals realize their worth as an employee, and leave their jobs to seek more from their careers. In order to seek out such employees or maintain the #toptalent you already have, a • Human-Centered Leadership Approach • is needed. To initiate such change, first you must: ❶ Find the problems - without knowing what needs to be fixed, how can you start fixing it? ❷ Gain an understanding of your employees - getting a grasp of your employees creates stronger relationships between boss/employee. ❸ Accept and respond to feedback - collaborate with your team so they know they are being heard. #turnover #motivate #workplacewellness #retentionstrategies #executivecoach #leadershiptraining #influence
The idea of a #hybridworkplace is becoming an increasing attractive alternative to the standard "9-5" office role of the past. Employees have become accustomed to working from home #WFH, and the benefits of such can be seen within all levels of an organization. We have the studies to prove that productivity and motivation can have booming results when individuals work remotely at least 25% of the time (Forbes, 21). What we have also seen presented, is that those who are in the early stages of their careers are having a harder time creating relationships and authenticity remotely. As a result of the benefits/hardships that come with remote work, we as leaders must choose to prioritize employee satisfaction to drive success. Flexibility validates our employees opinions and preferences, and encourages them to be intrinsically motivated through such recognition. #remotework #workingfromhome #motivation #influence #leadershipdevelopment #leadwithoutauthority #coachingprograms #leadershipcoaching #flexiblework #flexibility
• What we've noticed about leaders and employees throughout this pandemic is that people have become ➜ PURPOSEFUL • They don't want to make the same compromises and sacrifices that they have in the past, because the incentives are just not enough anymore. • Working overtime consistently, the lack of interaction through remote working, and the workload are all examples of what could be driven though ➜ EXTRINSIC rewards (ex. monetary gain). • Now, this isn't enough. They are working for themselves, as much as their company. ➜INTRINSIC rewards that are psychologically beneficial are of higher value. #motivation #workplaceculture #leadershipcoaching #leadershipdevelopmentprogram #motivation #influence #intrinsic #extrinsic #executivecoaching #motivating #teamdevelopment #performanceimprovement #productivity #COVID #pandemic #remotework
