One of my favourite parts of my job is hearing about your cloth diapering journeys. I’ve been cloth diapering for years, so believe me when I say I’ve tried ALL the diapers. There are so many wonderful options and innovations, which often lead new mamas to the question... why choose flats & preflats? All-in-ones, pocket diapers, prefolds, you name it... they’re all great, but before you decide... read my list of top reasons why I sold my entire cloth diaper stash and settled on using solely flats and preflats.

Flats and prelates are THE BEST (okay-maybe I’m a bit biased 😂) because they are

❤️ Customizable ❤️ Flats are arguably the most customizable way to cloth diaper. Between all of the different folds, layers and fibres - there are so many ways to put together the perfect diaper for your baby.

❤️ Easy to wash ❤️ Since flats and preflats are only 1-2 layers, they are easy to wash and dry quickly, whether it be in the dryer or on a line, saving you time and money.

❤️ Comfortable ❤️ In my experience, cloth diapers with elastics heavily irritated all of my children’s skin. Flats and preflats have no elastics, and no serged edges rubbing against their thighs. This means a lot less rashes and happier, more comfortable babies. (This feature also makes them an absolute breeze to spray 💩)

❤️ Super trim ❤️ Flats and preflats are known to be trim, allowing for better range of movement when your baby is learning to sit up, crawl and walk!

We 💜 our hand dyed wool covers! Why?

🐑 Unlike synthetic fibres, wool is breathable and can be used year round. It is a common misconception that wool is “hot”. Wool can actually pull moisture away from the body and evaporate it, keeping baby cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

🐑 Wool is easy to care for. Wool only needs to be washed when soiled or when it begins to smell. The lanolin in wool is naturally antimicrobial and when your cover gets wet with urine, it neutralizes it. For most babies, this can mean weeks without needing to wash your wool cover!

🐑 You need less covers. The minimalist mama can get away with having as little as two to three woolies! (Though you’ll probably want more!)
