It’s been a while since I’ve introduced myself…
My name is Maggie Galea and I’ve been creating macramé pieces since 2021 with my first creation being a plant hanger. From the moment I tied the first knot, it became an obsession hobby that quickly turned into a Small Business… ….I’m talking within a matter of 4 weeks before launching The Kind Knot on social media and entering my first market with 🎪
With three logo changes later, I think I finally found the look and style that best represents myself as an artist.

👩🏻A little about myself on a personal level:

🌲 I’ve grown up in a small town near a lake so naturally I enjoy the summer over winter however, autumn 🍂 is my favourite !

🧔🏻‍♂️I have a very supportive partner whom encourages me to step out of my comfort zones and is my biggest cheerleader.

👯‍♀️ I seem to like things in two’s - two daughters, two dogs, two cats & two ferrets … it must be a Libra ♎️ thing🤷🏻‍♀️

🌱 I have been vegan for 4 years - for my digestion, our planet & of course for the animals.

➰A name meaning “Light & Mercy” ➰

I wanted to make a wall hanging that signified peace , tranquility, safety, change, transitioning, pride, self-love, confidence, love , empathy, acceptance, strength, growth, diversity, equality, perseverance, compassion & independence.

I felt that a rainbow was the just the umbrella metaphor I needed to accomplish this task.

As I made this, I daydreamed of Ellen and all of her greatness she has given back to the world … the person who needs no surname introduction- the most amazing selfless person who encompasses all of the above mentioned. Little did I know that when I was actually searching for a name for this creation that I would only discover the meaning of Ellen is LIGHT & MERCY.
and there you have it … The Ellen ❤️

Whether it to be to your future self, to your lost loved one that you deeply miss, to the strangers around the world who are facing terrifying tragedies, to all of the animals you wish you could save for slaughter, to your friend who lives faraway or to your child who is just down the street at a sleepover.
Just think how many secrets, wishes and prayers our powerful moon holds safe for us.
Just like the moon, I found myself daydreaming and speaking to this beautiful creation and thus, ‘ Pensri’ was born. 🌝 Meaning ‘ Beauty of the Moon’ in Thai origin.
