When is the last time you had your vitamin and mineral levels checked? 🧠✨
Did you know that the balance of certain vitamins and minerals can play a critical role in your mental health? Let’s dive into three key nutrients: B12, magnesium, and vitamin D, and how they relate to depression.
Vitamin B12 is essential for the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which regulate mood. Low levels of B12 can lead to symptoms like fatigue, mood swings, and even depression. If you’re feeling low, it might be worth checking if B12 deficiency is contributing to your mental health.
Magnesium is often called the “relaxation mineral” for a good reason. It helps regulate the nervous system and manage stress by supporting neurotransmitter function and reducing inflammation. Low magnesium levels can lead to increased anxiety and depression, making it a key nutrient for maintaining mental balance.
Vitamin D is not just the “sunshine vitamin” for bone health; it also plays a vital role in mood regulation. Vitamin D receptors are found in the brain, and deficiencies have been linked to seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and other forms of depression. Ensuring adequate vitamin D levels can help support a positive mood, especially during the darker months.
Regularly monitoring your vitamin and mineral levels can be a simple yet powerful step in maintaining mental wellness. If you’re struggling with mood issues, consider speaking with a healthcare provider about testing and optimizing these crucial nutrients. As a holistic practitioner I can offer hair follicle testing, a non invasive way to check in on 900 sensitivities!
Your mental health deserves the best support—sometimes that means starting with the basics. Reach out when your ready. 🌿
Since she could talk she has told us she wants to be an “earth teacher.” 🦋
She has always been so special in this way. 🦋
It is so beautiful to watch her here. Where we get to rescue baby raccoons and protect butterflies with damaged wings. 🦋
To learn from all of our relations big and small. 🦋
Oh how I love this sweet girl, and all of her magic. 🦋
🧠🍽️ Foods and Mental Health: What to Avoid & How Food Heals 🍽️🧠
Did you know that what we eat can significantly impact our mental health? Certain foods can exacerbate anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. Here are some common culprits:
❌ Processed Foods: High in unhealthy fats and sugars, these can lead to inflammation and poor brain function.
❌ Refined Sugars: Can cause mood swings and energy crashes.
❌ Trans Fats: Found in many fried and baked goods, these can increase inflammation and affect brain function.
❌ Excessive Caffeine: Can increase anxiety and disrupt sleep patterns.
❌ Alcohol: A depressant that can worsen mood disorders and disrupt sleep.
But here’s the good news: Food can also be our medicine! 🌿✨
✅ Leafy Greens: Rich in folate, which supports mood regulation.
✅ Fatty Fish: High in omega-3 fatty acids, essential for brain health.
✅ Nuts and Seeds: Provide magnesium and zinc, which can reduce anxiety.
✅ Berries: Packed with antioxidants, they protect the brain from oxidative stress.
✅ Fermented Foods: Like yogurt and kimchi, promote gut health, which is closely linked to mental health.
By choosing nourishing, whole foods, we can support our mental well-being and feel our best. Let’s embrace the healing power of food! 🥦💪
Most people are shocked when they start balancing their gut biome and their mental health starts improving.
This connection between gut health and mental well-being is due to the gut-brain axis, a complex communication network that links the emotional and cognitive centers of the brain with peripheral intestinal functions.
The gut produces about 95% of the body’s serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood, social behavior, appetite, digestion, sleep, memory, and sexual desire. An imbalance in the gut microbiome can lead to reduced serotonin production, which may result in symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.
A healthy gut microbiome helps reduce inflammation throughout the body. Chronic inflammation is often linked to mental health disorders, so by reducing inflammation, gut health improvements can lead to better mental health.
Balancing the gut biome through diet, probiotics, and lifestyle changes can significantly impact mental health, highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to well-being.
Iridology can provide valuable insights into your gut health by analyzing patterns, colors, and other characteristics of the iris. These subtle indicators can reveal imbalances and potential issues within the digestive system, helping to pinpoint areas that need attention.

This is what burnout looks like. 🌪️
In this photo from 2022, I was experiencing clinical fatigue, a stark reminder of what happens when chronic stress overwhelms the body. Our autonomic nervous system has two main modes: the fight or flight response, which is activated in times of stress, and the rest and digest response, which promotes relaxation and healing.
When we are constantly in fight or flight mode, our bodies are flooded with stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Over time, this can lead to adrenal fatigue, where the adrenal glands become overworked and unable to produce these hormones effectively. The result? A state of chronic fatigue and burnout.
In this picture, you can see the physical toll burnout took on me: a swollen face, indicative of inflammation and fluid retention; a congested lymphatic system, struggling to detoxify my body; and extreme tiredness, making even simple tasks feel insurmountable. I felt perpetually exhausted, mentally foggy, and emotionally drained. My body was crying out for rest, but I couldn’t escape the cycle of stress.
Burnout is more than just feeling tired—it’s a serious health condition that affects both the mind and body. It’s a reminder of the importance of listening to your body and prioritizing self-care before reaching a breaking point.
It is possible to recover, even though it might feel impossible right now. Follow along this month for tips and info about my own journey!!
It has been really nice connecting with you many of you this month about hormones. As I wrap up this month of hormone content, here are a few ways I can support you in balancing your hormones. ⚖️
I am always reminded when seeing clients how many of us are powering through really hard things. So often I hear, “Ya, but everyone experiences that, don’t they?” And so much of this kind of thinking comes from western doctors who don’t understand women’s bodies and how they work, and in turn gas light you into thinking what you are experiencing is normal. ⛔️
You know your body best. Never stop asking questions or advocating for your health. Health is exponential, not just the absence of pain or symptoms. 🪐

Ever have one of those moments where life feels perfectly aligned? Tonight I experienced one such moment when I stumbled upon a snake in my garden. 🐍
For those who know me, my snake tattoo isn’t just ink; it’s a powerful symbol of change, transformation, and healing. As women, we often find ourselves shedding old skins, embracing new versions of ourselves, and healing from past wounds. The snake represents that journey—its ability to shed and renew speaks to our own cycles of growth and rebirth.
Seeing a snake, one that looked strikingly similar to my tattoo, felt like the universe was sending me a message. It was a beautiful reminder that I am on the right path, continuously evolving and healing. 🌸✨
Here’s to all the strong, transformative women out there. May we continue to embrace change, honor our growth, and find beauty in our healing journeys. 🌿💚
🌿✨ Nourish Your Body, Balance Your Hormones ✨🌿
As a holistic practitioner, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible power of food in restoring harmony to our bodies, especially when it comes to balancing hormones for women. 🌸💫
When we choose whole, nutrient-dense foods, we are not just feeding our bodies; we are providing them with the building blocks they need to thrive. Foods rich in essential nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, and fiber can play a vital role in supporting hormonal balance and overall well-being. 🍎🥑🥦
Incorporating foods such as wild-caught fish, flaxseeds, leafy greens, and berries into your diet can help regulate hormonal levels, reduce inflammation, and support your body’s natural detoxification processes. 🌿✨
Remember, it’s not just about what you eat, but also how you eat. Taking the time to savor and appreciate your meals, practicing mindful eating, and listening to your body’s signals can further support hormonal balance and digestion. 🙏🌺
🌿 Embracing Holistic Health 🌿
Hey beautiful souls! Today, let’s talk about something that is so important- our menstrual health! 🌸 As a holistic practitioner, I believe in the power of listening to our bodies and seeking help when needed. Our periods are not just a monthly inconvenience; they can be powerful indicators of our overall health and well-being. 🌞
Knowing when to seek help from a practitioner about your period is crucial. If you’re experiencing any of the following, it might be time to reach out for support:
🌺 Severe menstrual cramps that disrupt your daily life
🌺 Irregular periods or sudden changes in your cycle
🌺 Excessive or prolonged bleeding
🌺 Unexplained fatigue, mood swings, or other unusual symptoms
🌺 Difficulty getting pregnant or concerns about fertility
Remember, your period should not be a source of constant pain or distress. It’s essential to address any concerns or issues you may have with a trusted healthcare provider or holistic practitioner who can help you find balance and healing. 🌿💖
“Your results are normal”
The number of times I hear women experiencing this with their Dr while adamant that something is off is alarming.
I think we all need to remember that western medicine used male bodies for study (we could go down that rabbit hole but I’ll save that for another day). Is it any wonder we are met with these responses.
What they really mean to say is “I don’t know what’s going on”.
The key to understanding our bodies is that there are many systems at work that regulate hormones. So our approach to healing NEEDS to be holistic.
I create plans with my clients to help them see their whole self and realize their health potential. If you would like to work with me, use the link in my bio to make an appointment!
If you are a client of mine, you know that I really emphasize gut health, often as our first priority. Our gut manages so many of our bodily functions, outside of just digesting our food.
Your gut plays a crucial role in regulating your hormones, especially estrogen! 🌸
The gut microbiome, often called our “second brain,” is home to trillions of bacteria that influence numerous bodily functions, including hormone balance. Here’s how:
Estrobolome Magic: Within our gut, a specific group of bacteria, known as the estrobolome, helps metabolize estrogen. This process is essential for maintaining healthy estrogen levels and preventing both estrogen dominance and deficiency.
Detox Pathway: A healthy gut aids the liver in breaking down and excreting excess estrogen. Poor gut health can slow down this detox process, leading to hormonal imbalances.
Inflammation & Hormones: Gut inflammation can interfere with hormone production and regulation. A balanced gut reduces inflammation, supporting smoother hormone cycles and overall wellness.
Iridology helps me see your gut health and can inform what you need to restore balance. Check the link in my bio to book for analysis!
Hormone imbalances seem to be at an all time high and the majority of women I see in my practice struggle with this, including myself! 🌸

I am a mother who has been fighting my way through the medical system on behalf of my child for 5 months.
It has tested me in ways I didn’t know were possible. The doubt, intrusive thoughts, guilt, feelings of inferiority, the sadness, the anger…
I’ve been gaslit, yelled at, and ignored. I’ve also been listened to, validated, and supported.
This week we finally received a diagnosis and a plan for treatment. I’ve had waves of emotion release, the emotion I set safely aside while I fought for him.
I’ve been reflecting so much the past few days as we move forward with a treatment that feels scary to me, and I have found myself leaning into my intuition for clarity and confidence. Sometimes our rational brains aren’t helpful.
If ever you feel stuck, or utterly drained by the options or information in front of you, return to this.
Our intuition is such a gift.
My sweet girl is 8!!!
It is such a joy being your mother. You feel life fully and are the kindest person I know. You are the happiest alone in the forest making potions. You are an old soul who enjoys slow living and I am so grateful for your spirit in my life. I am so proud of my Mia girl.
Keep shining, my little sunflower 🌻

✨ Embracing Mindfulness in Times of Challenge ✨
This year has unfolded with its share of hurdles, but amidst these, I’ve witnessed the profound power of mindfulness. As a holistic wellness practitioner, I encounter many women grappling with adrenal fatigue and cortisol imbalances. The stress of modern life can indeed leave deep imprints on our health.
Mindfulness, a gentle yet potent tool, has not only supported my personal journey but has also been a cornerstone of healing in my practice. By anchoring ourselves in the present moment, we begin to operate from a place of awareness rather than reactivity. This shift is crucial, especially when dealing with stress-related imbalances.
From a quantum healing perspective, every thought and emotion holds energy. Mindfulness helps in consciously choosing where to direct this energy. It teaches us to cultivate calm and balance, which is critical in restoring adrenal health and balancing cortisol levels.
This year, as I navigated my own challenges, incorporating mindfulness into my daily routine helped me maintain a clear vision and a calm heart. It has been a sanctuary in the storm, allowing me to approach each day with renewed resilience and grace.
To anyone facing similar battles, remember, mindfulness isn’t just a practice but a journey back to your inner strength and peace. 🌿💫
Happy Mother’s Day! 🌷
My holistic wellness practice focuses mostly in the sphere of women’s health. Many of the women I see are mothers. Week after week, mothers come into the clinic, making time from their busy schedules to focus on their health. We talk at length about the long list of demands that take their toll over time, and ways in which we can be supporting our own health during it all.
The fact is, Mother’s do it all. We are the nucleus. The glue that holds everyone together. The safe place. The rememberer of preferences and appointment times. We pack the school lunches and we give really good hugs. We work, non stop, both in and out of the house to support our families.
We do it with resilience.
We do it with love.
We do it for you.
This Mother’s Day I hope you got a chance to sit back and enjoy this beautiful chaotic life that your curate. It’s hard work, boy is it ever, but raising our children is the most important job we could ever have.
I am forever grateful to learn from all the mothers in my life.
Happy Mothers Day! 🌷
Happy Birthday to our sweet Bear! I can’t express what a joy it is to be your mother. You light up every room with your witty sense of humour and shocking brilliance. I am so proud of how much you care for the people around you, never letting anyone forget how much you love them. You are brave, curious, and creative. I would move mountains for you sweet boy!
(Check out his very cool Titanic Captains hat. He’s going through a big Titanic phase. 🤣)
🩸Did you know that anemia is more common in women than men? 💁♀️ This condition occurs when your body lacks enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your tissues. If you’ve been feeling fatigued, dizzy, or have pale skin, you might want to consider getting tested for anemia. 🩸💔
🔍 Testing for low iron levels can be done holistically with your healthcare practitioner through a simple blood test but can also be seen in the eye through an iridology analysis. By addressing the root causes and incorporating a holistic approach, you can better manage and treat anemia. 🌱💪
🚨 Keep in mind that some symptoms of anemia may not be obvious. Look out for signs like hair loss, brittle nails, shortness of breath, and even cravings for non-nutritive substances like ice or dirt (a condition known as pica). Your body might be trying to tell you something! 🚩
Let’s prioritize our health and well-being by staying informed and taking proactive steps towards holistic wellness. Remember, you’re worth the effort! 💖

🌿✨ Iridology: The Energetic Lens to Wellness ✨🌿
Have you ever heard of iridology? This fascinating practice delves into the notion that our eyes are not just windows to our soul but also mirrors reflecting the state of our health and energetic well-being. Iridology, often referred to as the study of the iris, is a holistic modality that views the eyes as a map of the body’s internal systems and energy flow.
👁️✨ At its core, iridology believes that the iris contains valuable information about our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. By closely examining the patterns, colors, and markings in the iris, practitioners can identify potential imbalances, weaknesses, and strengths within the body’s energetic system. This ancient practice operates on the principle that every part of the body is interconnected, and by assessing the eyes, we gain insights into the overall health of the individual.
💫 Through the lens of iridology, the eyes serve as a gateway to understanding the body’s energetic body, offering a unique perspective on how energy flows and manifests in different areas of our being. By recognizing patterns and anomalies in the iris, practitioners can provide personalized insights into how to support and optimize the body’s energetic balance. This holistic approach not only addresses physical symptoms but also delves into the underlying energetic imbalances that may impact overall well-being.
🌸 Embracing iridology as a form of energy work allows us to deepen our connection to our bodies and tap into the subtle energies that influence our health. By honoring the wisdom of the eyes and their role in reflecting our inner vitality, we can enhance our understanding of the energetic body and embark on a journey towards holistic wellness and balance.

I’m thrilled to announce that I am adding heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback to my practice, just in time for Valentine’s Day! ❤️
HRV biofeedback is a powerful tool rooted in holistic medicine that can significantly enhance our understanding of the mind-body connection and promote overall health and well-being.
In holistic medicine, we recognize that the body and mind are intricately connected, and HRV biofeedback is a perfect example of this interconnectedness. Heart rate variability refers to the variation in the time interval between heartbeats, which is regulated by the autonomic nervous system.
Practitioners use heart rate variability (HRV) biofeedback to address a wide range of health concerns and to promote overall well-being. Some of the conditions and areas where HRV biofeedback is utilized include stress and anxiety management, chronic pain management, sleep quality, cardiovascular health and emotional regulation.
I am really looking forward to working with clients in this way!
Treat yourself to a happy heart this Valentines Day!! ❤️

Fair warning ⛔️ there’s a rant ahead.
In the past few months I have frequented more hospitals than I care to mention trying to find answers for my husband and son who have had some heart/neuro related things happening. Big scary things.
My mama heart and Dr. candidate brain have been in overdrive with a mix of intuition and medical knowledge in an attempt to navigate our healthcare system.
Every component of their health has been parcelled out into objective compartments and analyzed accordingly. Their bodies seen as a complex machine, with each part meticulously analyzed and understood through the lens of biological and chemical processes.
If you ask, could this experience have anything to do with this symptom there answer is always - “No, there is nothing indicating that on paper.”
Medicine is not solely about dissecting the physical components of the body, but also about understanding and nurturing the energetic equilibrium that underlies our well-being. The intricate interplay of energy within us creates a synchronous function that is indispensable to our health. And I truly mean the electromagnetic signals our heart sends to the rest of our body to function.
Why have we accepted healthcare in this form? I will never know. But what I can tell you is that I’m tired of fighting to be seen as a whole being. Really tired. It is my hope that as a practitioner I can help to makes these connections for people and their families.
But for now, I am just one tired mama and wife.
(PS- this is not a slam to the amazing nurses and healthcare staff that have cared for us so well. You are all amazing )
🎁✨ I don’t believe in dieting. And I NEVER advise my clients to “diet” or restrict their eating. Healing our relationship with food starts with understanding nutrition, how it effects our body and mood, and what we can ADD to our meals to make them even better.
🌟 I’m thrilled to share my FREE nutrition guide with you all, designed to help you nourish your body and feel amazing during this festive time. Let’s focus on adding nutrients to our meals for that extra holiday glow! 🍎
