Drag queen Freida Whales has performed a large number of all age drag queen shows.

On May 14, 2023 Freida Whales performed a 19+ drag queen drag and burlesque brunch. The poster lists 19+.

On June 25, 2023 Freida Whales performed 19+ drag queen drag and burlesque brunch. The poster did not list an age limit. The advertisement for the event on Global News lists the age as 19+.

Prior to July 23, 2023, Freida Whales had advertised a drag queen drag and burlesque brunch. The poster did not list an age limit. Freida Whales has performed a significant number of all age drag shows that have been advertised as all ages. When asked if the event was 19+ the venue responded that it was “all ages event and given the nature of drag shows there may be some subject matter which may not be suitable for children."

Petitions were signed for and against Freida’s Whales Kelowna drag queen storytime.

18,532 signed STOP Taxpayer Funded Drag Queen Sexualization of Children, compared to the,
4,285 signatures for Continue Family Drag Show Storytime.

Over four times the number of signatures were against the drag queen storytime than for it. Furthermore, a large number of the 4,285 signatures for drag queen storytime were from people who don’t live in Kelowna.

Drag queen Freida Whales last Kelowna drag storytime was featured in Rebel News with the headline, “Kelowna ‘storytime’ featuring drag queen with cannibalism-themed music video”.

“” Drag queens and st*****rs are not appropriate role models for young children who tend idolize any live entertainer that they meet,” Baird’s canceled petition read”.

“In a music video of Cook’s called “sculpture”, ‘Freida’, or alter ego ‘Killa’, acts out murdering someone and discarding their body parts. Even more disturbing is a scene when Cook appears to act out cannibalism by blending up a portion of the body and then eating some of it with his fingers before feeding the leftover remains to a pig.”

The taxpayer funded Art Galleries in Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton are hosting drag queen storytime with Freida Whales in January and February. The same promotional image set are used in an all age drag queen show and drag queen storytime advertisements.

The Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton Art Gallery’s receive $477,193, $299,856 and $125,000 of annual municipal tax dollars, respectively.

Coun. Cannan writes a personal column which is well received in Kelowna. There was a loud minority that objected to a column, mostly the same people who unsuccessfully demanded Jordan Peterson’s Kelowna book tour stop be canceled. Free speech is permitted (Note: child abuse is a crime and not a choice). There is a separation of church and state in government but elected officials do not need to become atheists to hold the position, they can be as religious as they like. Many constituents prefer politicians of faith.

There are valued concerns about the transgender movement and gender ideology SOGI.

Deceiving children that s*x is a spectrum, when it has been proven that s*x is a binary, is harmful and wrong.

Kelowna girls being put on puberty blockers at 11 and being permanently sterilized is harmful and wrong. 11-year-olds do not have the mental capacity to comprehend or consent to a lifetime of sterilization. Sterilizing children is not inclusivity.

Kelowna girls being put on testosterone at 13 and having their breasts removed at 15 is harmful and wrong.

Activists promoting and encouraging s*xually explicit 19+ drag queen shows for an all-ages audience, where underage minors are permitted, is harmful and wrong.

A councillor, with no known children of their own, said in a news article that Kelowna families (approximately 87.95%) who think parents should be informed of pronoun changes under the age of 16, are prejudiced if they publicly vocalize their beliefs. This councillor’s actions were inappropriate and offensive to the vast majority of Kelowna citizens.

Kelowna is fortunate to have such an experienced and overqualified councillor like Ron Cannan. He asks the tough and important questions while others go with the flow. Kelowna is a better city because of the hard work of Councillor Ron Cannan. Thanks Ron! Excited for great things in 2024

It’s welcome news that Harvard’s president has resigned. Organic diversity is good. DEI is not organic diversity. Major loss for the DEI that has infiltrated education, medicine, corporations and government.

Statement on Agricultural Land Commission (ALC) (201 – 4940 Canada Way
Burnaby, BC) Decision

The 11-page decision made by the Agricultural Land Commission made zero reference and zero consideration for the multiple submissions made by virtually every resident in the Neighborhood.
The 11-page decision was a complete rubberstamp.
We did learn that the Applicant does not have 18 properties. The
Applicant: Northern Cherries / Manjinder Khela / Khela Orchards has 25 properties.
Zero consideration was given to the devastating harm to the Neighborhood.
Zero consideration was given to the applicant’s removal of existing housing and the misleading statement of soil conditions.
Zero consideration was given to the threat to Public Safety and a potential for harm to Human Life.

This ALC decision was made by:

Disrupting residential Neighborhoods appears to have had no effect on these people.
Endangering Public Safety and the lives of children residing in the neighborhood does not appear to have been considered.
If it has an agricultural aspect it is approved, without apparent regard to the residents and needs of the residents. The Applicant does not reside in the Neighborhood. He did not want the 60 person, 16 trailer, trailer park in his backyard.
The former Mayor, (who is facing unrelated criminal charges) was very biased and chastised the residents for being whiners and complainers.
The ALC’s secretive, shadowy and extremely biased decision is ill considered and a blind acceptance of all these Temporary Farm Worker (TFW) applications. They have not demonstrated that they have the ability to provide oversight or scrutiny – just a rubberstamp!
This has been done before, and it does not appear that they (the ALC) have ever turned down a TFW application. There are already numerous TFW accommodations in the Kelowna area.
The applicant already has 380 TFW’s and is now approved for 440 TFW’s. How many does he really need?
The failure of the ALC to consider and assess all the issues, shows the ALC is incapable of fulfilling their mandate. It is time to disband the ALC

I will be petitioning the Provincial Government and lobbying our local MLA’s to get them to disband the Agricultural Land Commission. I am not opposed to the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), however the ALC is ineffective and a disgrace and they give no overt regard to the relevant factors and accordingly should no longer be supported, or allowed to continue. Further, the entire set up of the Agricultural Land Commission lacks transparency necessary to determine if they are doing their job, as clearly, they are not.

• Last Fall, on October 25, 2021, just past the intersection of Hart and Spiers Road, there was a fatal car crash into the gully.
• Attached are three pictures. One, of the intersection of Hart and Spiers Road with the roadside cross circled in red. A second picture of the roadside cross. And a third picture of the victim of the fatal car crash.
• Darin Gordon Ettel (July 1, 1971 – October 25, 2021) was killed instantly when his car went into the gully just past the intersection of Hart and Spiers Road. He was 50 years old.
• The roadside cross commemorates Darin’s life, and serves as a constant and permanent reminder and warning that a fatal car crash occurred here on this dangerous and narrow residential road.
• Darin’s vehicle was far from the first vehicle to roll down into the gully, but he was the first to die, that we know of.
• Manjinder Khela/Northern Cherries application is to run large commercial vehicles, school buses, multiple times daily on a dangerous residential road that is not designed or safe for commercial vehicle travel.
• There is the rare commercial vehicle that drives on Hart Road on a one-off basis. There are no large commercial vehicles driving on Hart Road multiple times daily, on a permanent basis for very good reason.
• Hart Road is on the School District 23 Transportation Department’s “No Drive” list, because the dangerous residential road is not safe for daily traffic of large commercial vehicles, or school buses.
• Approving Manjinder Khela/Northern Cherries’ application to drive daily large commercial vehicles on a residential road not suited or constructed for those vehicles would be an unconscionable disregard for public safety. Another fatality like Darin’s would be very unfortunate because it can be avoided.
• Kelowna’s former Mayor and Council’s questionable decision to approve Manjinder Khela/Northern Cherries application, failed to properly consider the public safety of the local residents.
• We recognize that the ALC will need to balance the needs of the agricultural sector without unduly jeopardizing public safety.

• It is distressing that you are even having to consider the Northern Cherries/Manjinder Khela application for an industrial 60 person, 16 trailer, trailer park in a residential neighborhood, directly outside the front window 3 houses.
• This application should have never reached your desk at the ALC…and would not have if Kelowna City Council did their job.
• City Council only approved the Northern Cherries/Manjinder Khela application based on potentially misleading statements from the Applicant’s agent that it would take 1.5 years of work to slightly change the location to a vastly better spot.
• Furthermore, the Northern Cherries/Manjinder Khela application was pushed through by our very biased and outgoing Mayor, a Councillor in a potential conflict of interest and other Councillors (except 2) who followed the Mayor and voted in favor of applicant Northern Cherries/Manjinder Khela despite 100% opposition of the neighborhood.
• If you own land, you should be able to build whatever you want on it, so long as it isn’t totally unreasonable and against the spirit of the neighborhood, which Majinder Khela’s trailer park most certainly is.
• Look at the picture of the proposed location. Look how ugly this is. Can you imagine this outside your front window.
• Northern Cherries/Manjinder Khela has 18 properties and 560 acres, which Khela did not disclose to the neighborhood or in his application when he pretended to be a mom-and-pop operation instead of a multimillion-dollar corporation with high over high-volume overseas sales. In addition, he chose the absolute worst site and wants to max out his use of the land leading to increased profits at the expense of the neighborhood and the expense of being a good neighbor.
• Under the current rules, applicants are to use pre-existing building structures. Northern Cherries/Manjinder Khela removed pre-existing building structures that could have been used. Why?
• Manjinder Khela ‘s agent did not consult with the neighbourhood (prior consultation is encouraged by the City) and initially gave his neighbors less than 2 weeks notice, although they had been working on the application for 1.5 years.
• Northern Cherries/Manjinder Khela made false and misleading statements that the soil is not suitable for farming when the previous owner, successfully farmed on the proposed site.
• Gerry, everyone knows you as a decent, honest and respectable man. We know you will make the reasonable and right decision.

I wanted to inform the public about 2 events in Kelowna, one in the past and one that is scheduled in the future, where elected officials have demonstrated poor judgment. These elected officials are:

• Mayor Colin Basran (Incumbent)
• Councillor Loyal Wooldridge (Incumbent)
• Wayne Broughton School Trustee (Incumbent)
• Candidate Val Johnson School Trustee
