🩺 The essential work to strengthen health care means reducing wait times, connecting more people to doctors, and strengthening services for when you need them.
The BC NDP is making significant investments in healthcare to ensure all British Columbians have access to the care they need. Our investments are aimed at reducing wait times, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring everyone has a family doctor.
🌟 Key investments announced this month include:
➡️ the new medical school at SFU’s Surrey Campus, which will train the next generation of doctors right here in B.C.
➡️ expanded gynecological oncology surgical services in Kelowna with more staff, including new gynecological oncologists, and
➡️ Cottonwoods Care Centre being replaced and expanded in Kelowna!
With the highest enrolment in MSP since 1974 and Canada’s largest ageing population placing unprecedented demands on the health care system, we have to continue to invest into more hospitals, cancer care, and long term care homes to keep pace with demand.
David Eby’s government inherited a very sick patient thanks to health funding cuts, ripped up contracts, and privatization of health support services - causing healthcare workers to retire in a state of burn out.
Sustained investment and strategic focus is what’s needed to make sure people have access to the health care they deserve!

We need made in solutions, when it comes to housing!

"As a city councillor, I’ve heard people’s concerns about healthcare, housing, and the cost of living. Having worked with the BC NDP government for six years on Council, I’ve seen firsthand how they are on our side, which is why I chose to run alongside Premier David Eby and the BC NDP.
The BC NDP has chosen to invest here, and we’ve seen the dividends locally. The province-wide $1 billion Growing Communities Fund softened the burden on local tax payers by accelerating investments into the Bertram pedestrian overpass, Central Okanagan Search and Rescue, increased accessibility to Mission Creek Regional Park, and the work towards introducing a new curbside compost program.
Kelowna is one of the first cities to receive funding for purpose-built housing and treatment for people with complex mental health and substance use issues and the tiny home projects to address homelessness. The BC NDP are taking urgent action to build the homes we need. They’re cutting red tape and getting out of the way of new development, but also investing directly in affordable homes for frontline workers through BCBuilds that will deliver 20 per cent of homes below market rent. It’s the most ambitious housing plan in Canada – as it should be. We are in a crisis, and the government needs to respond with urgent action."

🍁 Happy Canada Day, ! 🍁 Today, let's celebrate our beautiful and diverse country. We're lucky to enjoy incredible landscapes, cultures, and communities across this nation.
As we celebrate, let's also acknowledge that we're on the traditional territory of the syilx/Okanagan people who have cared for these lands for thousands of years.
Enjoy the festivities, learn something new, and let's keep working towards a future where everyone feels included and respected. Have a great day, everyone! 🎉
As Pride month comes to a close, I am reminded of the incredible and courageous community we are building together. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Each year, we renew our commitment to human rights and equity, honoring those who paved the way for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights. We must also shed light on the targeted attacks faced by our q***r and trans siblings.
As Kelowna’s first openly gay elected official, I am humbled to serve and amplify the voices that have been excluded for far too long. I hold this with the deepest of reverence and responsibility.
Running as the Candidate in Kelowna Centre, I am proud to be part of a party that unwaveringly supports the q***r and trans community. We will not yield to right-wing efforts to harm our community; we stand with you when you need us most.
These movements thrive due to the hard work and vision of volunteers of , activists like .lgbt, and allies who dedicate their lives to promoting diversity locally and globally.
This year, I call upon our allies. Thank you for standing with us during Pride. We need you now more than ever to step up, sometimes even in front of us, when you witness or experience injustices towards the q***r and trans community.
Remember, Pride is not a spectator sport.
📸Thank you for capturing these moments. 📸

As with most political campaigns, part of the money raised for our team gets spread out all across the Province to make sure our progressive message gets heard in every community.
On June 27th (today!), you have a unique opportunity to maximize your impact! By donating to my campaign today, your entire contribution will go entirely to our Kelowna Centre campaign.
This is an incredible opportunity to boost our victory fund and make history by electing the first progressive provincial candidate in this constituency. As the other parties start picking up the pace on fundraising, we need to do the same. Donations help fund a campaign office, purchase lawn signs, buy advertisements, and help fuel our volunteers. We cannot afford to miss our fundraising targets, and we want to keep our momentum going.
Our movement is founded on the values of accountability, courage, integrity and respect. With your support, we will make a difference. We will bring positive change to our community. We need your support to make this vision a reality. I know times are tough and many folks are tight on money, that’s why our party and this campaign is powered by people.
If you are able to spare $10, $20, or even $100 today it can make all the difference come election day this October 19th. Thank you for your continued support and I look forward meeting folks throughout our community over the next three months!
With sincere gratitude,
Loyal

The essential work to strengthen health care means reducing wait times, connecting more people to doctors, and strengthening services for when you need them!
With the highest enrolment in MSP since 1974 and Canada’s largest ageing population placing unprecedented demands on the health care system, we have to continue to invest into more hospitals, cancer care, and long term care homes to keep pace with demand!
More than 700 new doctors are now working in BC, and our government continues to draw more healthcare practitioners to our province! This is just part of the ongoing work that David Eby and our BC NDP team are doing to improve healthcare and make sure that British Columbians get the best care possible.
Sustained investment and strategic focus is what’s needed to make sure people have access to the health care they deserve!
Former Premier John Horgan has consistently demonstrated strength and resilience, making him a true champion of the people.
In times of crisis, he has stood by the side of British Columbia, showing unwavering support. As proud British Columbians, we now stand in solidarity with him as he faces the battle against cancer a third time.
This memory in 2021 was when I introduced the ‘We Applaud’ campaign to Premier Horgan. This grassroots initiative aimed to honor the tireless efforts of healthcare heroes throughout the pandemic.
He shared his immense respect and trust in our health care professionals that had just treated him then.
Its leaders like John Horgan that inspire me personally to public service, to lead with integrity, heart and courage.
Taking care of our parks and wildlife is something we all can get behind!
Working with the Regional District, I’ve seen firsthand how crucial it is to address climate change and manage wildfire risks. By protecting our natural spaces through climate action strategies, we’re not just preserving 's natural beauty for future generations but also creating safer communities. 🌲
Today, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day, honoring the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous communities in and across Canada.
This day is a reminder to listen, learn, and support the ongoing efforts toward reconciliation and equity. Let's take the time to appreciate the profound impact Indigenous peoples have on our society and commit to fostering understanding and respect.
Hi everyone - Just a heads-up that I’ll be on vacation for a few weeks starting tomorrow!
It's so important to take time for self-care and to focus on our mental health. Whether it’s a vacation, a staycation, or simply carving out some downtime, we all need moments to recharge and reconnect with ourselves. I encourage you all to find time for intentional self-care this summer, as well!
Take care, and I’ll see you soon, refreshed and ready to keep working for our community! 💙
Being recognized as one of Top 40 Under 40 is truly an honour.
It’s incredible to be recognized alongside 39 other inspiring leaders, visionaries, and professionals who actively conteibure to our vibrant community.
The highlight for me, was sharing this prestigious award with my husband, Ian - who is an Honouree too! His thought leadership, brilliant mind, and kind heart continue to inspire me every day.
This event reminded me of the incredible minds and caring people that make our community so vibrant and innovative.
OUR MOVEMENT IS POWERED BY PEOPLE LIKE YOU!
Love making phone calls and talking to people? Are your thumbs ready to text? Do you have a lawn that would look great with one of our signs? We’d love to hear from you.

Leadership in Crisis: a reflection on The Grouse Complex 2023 Fires.🔥
It was a pleasure to be invited by the Institute of Corporate Directors (Okanagan) with Chief Administrative Officer, Sally Ginter to discuss governance in times of crisis.
Sally and I provided a glimpse behind the curtain of the successes and learnings of the fires and how we are emerging stronger for future hazards.
The theme: trust and relationships. When we foster strong relationships and have each other’s backs everyone wins.
Last month, I was joined by MLA
Ravi Parmar, Parliamentary Secretary for International Credentials.
He was in on behalf of the Education Minister to announce some exciting investments including the North Glenmore Elementary expansion and a $10.5 million investment toward a new prefabricated expansion at Chief Tomat Elementary School.
I'm proud to be working with a government that’s making a real difference in the Okanagan Region and in our schools!
📚 Exciting news for the Central Okanagan! The Province is investing over $162 million to expand schools in our fast-growing region. This funding will support three major projects: a new 1,200-seat secondary school, a two-storey addition at Hudson Road Elementary, and the purchase of a site for a future elementary or middle school.
Additionally, North Glenmore Elementary will get five new prefabricated classrooms, adding 120 seats, and École Dr Knox Middle School will see a 12-classroom addition with 300 more seats.
Proud to work with a government that prioritizes our children's education and the growth of our schools in ! 🏫
