Thorowgood saddles are changeable through seven or eight different width fittings thanks to the SimaTree gullet bar inside. These bars are formed from heat-treated, pressed steel and provide strength and stability for the tree. They have been extensively tested for durability and accuracy, so you can be confident they won’t bend, warp or distort.

This before photo shows the old cotton webbing on the front billet, which isn’t safe. Swapped it out for new nylon webbing while replacing billets on this one.

This GP saddle is ideal for low withered and flat backed horses, such as cob types. It is a great option if you are looking for an all round saddle for hacking, jumping and some schooling.

Flatter tree shape to follow the low-withered flat-backed profile.

Straight-cut, slim line panels to reduce bulk between the horse and rider.

Velcro knee blocks under the flap which can be positioned to suit your leg length and position. The Cob GP does not have calf blocks.

Changeable Gullet 'S' Bar

Although designed primarily to take children through their riding years, this saddle is a good option for leggy teenagers or petite adults on ponies or shorter-coupled horses thanks to the forward-cut flap.

This saddle is available in one panel profile (standard) but thanks to the SimaTree S-Bar can be adjusted to suit low wither and standard wither fits.

The flap is cut forward in front of the point of the rider’s knee to accommodate a leggy teenager or adult pony rider.

Velcro knee and calf blocks under the flap can be positioned to suit leg length and position.

Five girthing options which allows saddle stability to be optimised instantly on a variety of conformations

This saddle takes the SimaTree S-Bar and so is suitable for ponies with a medium or low wither. A saddle fitter can usually achieve a good fit on a variety of conformations, thanks to the open-headed tree and versatile panel design which is flocked with English wool.

The perfect dressage saddle for all low-wither conformations, including compact and short-backed types. The new tree design and slimline panels combine to ensure a good fit and great stability on flat-back dressage horses, whether they’re wide or not

Doing up your Prolite Girth correctly will help make sure it lasts. Always thread the billet strap through the buckle before applying any upward pressure to tighten the girth.
Using the keeper strap alone will break the central rivet. The loops are designed solely to guide the billet strap, not to withstand the pressure of tightening.
