Michael C. Duguay
saint maybe
I begin my final run of shows of the year tonight in Toronto at Michael Cloud Duguay - Solo Piano Peformance at Burdock Piano Fest. I’ll be finishing the year with two more solo piano performances next week at Hotel Wolfe Island on Wednesday and at Jethro’s in Peterborough on Thursday. Closing out the year my cosmic rock group Valleyspeak will be performing at By Divine Right / The Burning Hell / Valleyspeak at Sadleir House on December 30 which is bound to be a stellar show.
Huge thanks to everybody who booked me for gigs, hired me for shows and studio work, brought me on the road, played in my projects, and especially to those who attended shows and supported the work. 2023 has been a banner year and I’m grateful 🖤

last summer at I was walking towards the festival grounds when I heard the most perfect power pop coming from the main stage. the band was the song was ‘snakes & ladders’ and I watched their entire performance side stage, my mind blown by their energy and amazing tunes. They made me feel like a 14 year old at my first punk show again.
The invited me to perform a song for their hotel session series, and when I got to the hotel .whiteley and all of were all there hanging out. I decided to skip the original material and corral all these great folk players into coming up with an arrangement for snakes & ladders on the fly. thanks to the hotel and sean turrell for making the vid, and to tough age for being the best band in canada.

Shout out to Michael C. Duguay for joining me on tour this fall opening for Carson McHone and The Outfit, and for elevating the tunes with the bellows and buttons (accordion and concertina) and a generous and adventurous musical sensibility. Thank you Michael!

Thanks to First Crush Promotion for having me on their show and promoing next weeks ottawa concert!
I am so pleased to be included in this final round of lineup announcements and to finally share that I’ll be at this year’s SappyFest presenting a unique, collaborative performance alongside my dear friends and favourite artists Joyful Joyful and New Hermitage . Not unlike mine and NH’s collaborative, improvisational performance last October in Halifax, we will be forming a one-of-a-kind ensemble and creating new, spontaneous arrangements of my songs and poems featuring New Hermitage’s ambient chamber and Joyful Joyful’s vocal drone experimentations. To call this a dream come tru is an understatement. I’m deeply grateful to be invited back in to this festival and community after a long absence; the opportunity to use this space to expirement with such dear friends and brilliant artists is very meaningful. I am also playing with a whole bunch of other bands! Stay tuned!
