To all the wonderful clients we’ve met over the years. It’s been a pleasure to serve all of you. This year JOAT will be moving on to Newfoundland end of spring and closing down services in Niagara. We thank you so much for all of the support and kindness you’ve shown us. We’ll miss you! Make sure you take good care of your homes! ❤️👷🏼♀️✌️
Another happy customer! There’s still time to get those sheds up before the snow flies! Contact us today! Texting is the fastest! 289-830-2905
Yep! All done :)))
New toy! Love it! Insanely accurate! ❤️✌️😎👷🏼♀️
Fun with gazebo building! I always get a chuckle out of these diagrams… this part requires you of regular height on a step stool and your 8 and 1/2 foot friend to hold it… 🤪😜😂 (pro basketball player not included)
Almost done a remodel from the studs up. How long should a remodel from studs to done take if everything is changing? Depending on size, About 4-6 weeks. How much should it cost? That depends on size and how much you spend on materials and new fixtures etc… but basically anywhere from $8000 to $15,000. Does it add value to your home? Absolutely.
Skillz …. ❤️✌️😎
The beginning of a recessed medicine cabinet. We cut the drywall and stud for the size of the back of the cabinet, and now we’re gonna build a solid frame in the wall, to support both the cut stud and the cabinet. Gonna keep posting pics as it progresses ❤️😎✌️👷🏼♀️
Ahhhhh the things you see when you remove drywall and tiling. Guess the last guy wasn’t great at math Lolol Yeaup right through the pipe… we’re gonna fix this by cutting out the damaged area and coupling it back up properly. Also this is a drain pipe that was installed level… so we’re gonna put an angle on that to make sure the new sink drains well. Remember if you’re gonna fix it, to fix it right!😎✌️👷🏼♀️
It’s good to be me, another win from the Home Depot Local Pro contest: 196 piece mechanics tool set… ❤️😎👷🏼♀️✌️
Gotta say I really liked this 10x14 Gazebo by Sojag, good weight and wind resistant. It comes with the netting and privacy drapes. The clients were a dream to work for! 😎✌️👷🏼♀️
In a house the other day working away with my trash bag beside me cleaning as I go. Got some dirt on my hands and asked the home owner if it would be ok to use her Laundry tub. Shocked she said yes. I asked her if she was shocked because she was uncomfortable and said I could use the hose outside. She said no, she was shocked that I even asked if it was ok, normally male workers just do what they like and she cleans up after they’re gone. Was this just a bad experience she had or are my brothers in trade really doing that?
HEY FOLKS! JOAT WILL BE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL MAY 10TH! 😎✌️👷♀️
I’ve had a few grumblings about being a Local Pro with Home Depot, that anyone can toss on the hat and say they’re a pro. Well, no. You have to be listed on the local pro area of the Home Depot website. If somebody is claiming to be a HD Pro simply ask them for a link to their pro page.
To be listed you have to be a) a registered business b) carry at least $1 million liability insurance c) carry WSIB coverage d) pass a criminal record check and e) provide proof of any licensing. The organizers check on the pros listed to make sure they’re current. After all that, if you don’t maintain a stellar reputation they will remove you from the local pro program.
Not that easy, but very happy I did it!
❤️😎👷🏼♀️
NO!!! THESE ARE NOT MY RATES!!! Just thought it was really funny!!! 😎✌️👷🏼♀️😜
Personal Safety for the Handywoman;
I get asked a lot as a woman who enters homes of strangers if I ever feel unsafe. First, I get a feel for the client before I meet them. If something feels even slightly off, I won’t book with them. Next, I have another person who always knows where I am and who I’m meeting. I check in with them at specified times updating them to let them know I’m ok. If I miss my checkin time they know what to do. Lastly, my phone location is always being tracked by another person. It seams unfair that women in this industry have to take extra precautions, but it’s a wise thing to do. Have a buddy that is always looking out for you.
😎✌️👷🏼♀️
LET’S PLAY.. how many things you can find wrong with this hookup. I spot 5, one of which is dangerous. Folks, I can’t stress more, that getting a licensed plumber is always worth the money!
😎✌️👷🏼♀️ Can you at least spot the dangerous one?
Raise your daughters knowing what to do! 😎✌️👷🏼♀️
I remember when I was in school I wasn’t taught a lot of hands-on trade-related skills, construction skills or woodworking. The girls had to take a semester of home economics, which meant I had to make nylon babies. I had to learn how to run a household, but no one taught me how to fix my house should anything happen. I found my way eventually but there were several bumps along the way.
That is why, it’s important to take steps to encourage women to join the trades and support them in doing so, which includes providing support systems and mentorship opportunities to women already in the trades 👍

When the glass is a touch wobbly, don’t get talked into taring it all out and replacing. Install a glass shower brace/support bar in under an hour. Then recaulk around the exterior. Safe and sturdy again✌️😎👷🏼♀️

Make it Right!
3 Deck Safety Tips - Make It Right® There are many things that can—and do—go wrong with decks. The footings, height, wood etc. That's why Mike Holmes has 3 Deck Safety Tips you need to know.
Let’s talk about who you’re hiring…
When you hire an independent contractor/handy person in Ontario Canada ALWAYS ask for three things:
1. Proof of Insurance
2. WSIB certificate
3. Business licence
Do not hire “under the table” labour.
If a person who isn’t insured and isn’t covered by WSIB works on your job and gets injured, lawsuits can happen. Yes you could end up being 100% liable and not be covered by your own insurance for hiring somebody not covered and not “legal”. Is it really worth saving a few dollars? And if they break something… guess who pays?
BTW, you also have the right to ask a construction company and it's subcontractors for proof of all the above before they enter your home - AND YOU SHOULD!
Protect yourself and hire smartly!
