What are the chances that the missing concrete and the crack along the corner of the foundation wall are related?

The downside of having large trees adjacent to a building foundation. The roots will often grow into the weeping tile system and obstruct the flow of water.

It’s very common to have shrinkage cracks occur at or near the corner adjacent to a beam pocket. If the cracks start to increase in size it is most likely due to several factors.

-Lack of steel reinforcement
-Insufficient soil bearing capacity
-Lack of sub-soil drainage
