He has been able to explain and apply his knowledge of Forces Acting on Structures and Mechanisms, Heat and Temperature, Light and Sound, and Earth and Space Systems in class discussions and during practical activities. *N* has been able to use evidence to support his explanations and has been able to provide accurate and detailed descriptions of concepts and processes. He is encouraged to continue developing his understanding of science by exploring the topics further.

Grade 8, Language, Level 2: *N* has shown a great deal of growth this year in his language skills. He has demonstrated a solid understanding of the Ontario curriculum for grade 8 language, including understanding and analyzing texts, writing and presenting, speaking and listening, media studies, exploring language, literature studies, French as a second language, Aboriginal languages, language and culture, language and identity, and language and technology. In class, *N* has consistently applied his knowledge to complete tasks and activities, such as writing a persuasive essay, making a multimedia presentation, and participating in small group discussions. He has also shown an interest in exploring language and culture, and has actively sought out opportunities to learn more about his language and identity. *N* is encouraged to continue developing his language skills, as this will help him to become a more confident and effective communicator.
