My father, an accomplished craftsman, was also a beekeeper. This handmade pottery stamp of a bee is inspired by the wonderful memories I have of working in the honey house along side my Dad.

It felt great to be back in the pottery studio again. These pieces are ready for the 1st of 2 firings before they will be ready to accent my one-of-a-kind rope bowls. I forgot how therapeutic play in the clay can be.

One of my favourite memories while travelling in Patagonia was an excursion in the Beagle Channel from Ushuaia, Argentina. Seeing penguins, which had just returned from Antarctica, was a highlight and a life-long memory. This piece is crafted from this memory. I dyed the rope an indigo blue to represent the cold water of the channel and decorated it with a penguin pottery piece representing the waddle that were preparing their nests for the arrival of the next generation.

Inspired by my travels in Africa, this natural tone basket is decorated with one of my favourite animals, a majestic elephant.

The hummingbirds may have left for the winter but this basket could be a reminder of their presence all year round.
