Position Summary:

To carry out the goals and objectives of the Future 4 Nations Aboriginal Head Start Daycare Program under the direction of the Program Coordinator while maintaining the standards of the Community Care Facility Act, and an early childhood philosophy.

Days and hours of employment:
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•To report directly to the Program Coordinator
•Abide by the regulations set out in the Procedures and Policy Manual as applicable to your position with Future 4 Nations
•Actively contribute to the on-going operation of the program to provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth
•Contribute to the development and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum (lesson plans) to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development
•Ensure guidance of children’s behavior that encourages self-concept and are consistent with the AHS philosophy and ECE guidelines
•Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments that extend conversations

Qualifications:

•Possess and maintain a valid Early Childhood Certificate and a License to Practice (in accordance with Community Care Facilities Branch licensing requirements).
•Valid safety oriented first-aid certificate
•Criminal Record Clearance
•Proof of immunization
•Familiarity of the Community Care Facilities Act
•Ability to work with Aboriginal families and willingness to share in and participate in cultural activities
•Ability to work independently or in a team setting

Primary Responsibilities

Support staff for children with diverse abilities
We are a daycare located in Chilliwack that focuses on quality care while implementing the 6 components of a Headstart program: Culture & Language, Education, Health Promotion, Nutrition. Social support, Parent & Family Involvement.

We are looking for 1-2 more people to join our amazing team.
Currently the contracts we have for this position are 26 hours a week. The number of hours available depends on the needs of the children and the contracts that we have to support them.

The Tenant Support Worker will facilitate building a sense of community among Riverstone residents while supporting the Tenant Relations Department in safeguarding rules and regulations of the MQHS rental agreement.

Primary Responsibilities
• Establishes working relationships and liaisons with and refers tenants to organizations and/or services within the community as appropriate to their needs.
• Work closely with the Tenant Relations team in resolving chronic and/or outstanding tenant issues.
• Connect with new and established tenants at regular intervals to ensure tenant well-being and to clarify Society’s policies and guideline.
• Provides support and referrals on an individual basis on such matters as tenant disputes, budgeting, unit cleanliness, education, employment, and other personal issues.

Preferred Qualifications
• Certificate in Social Work or related fields
• General knowledge of Residential Tenancy Act
• Computer experience in MS Office Suite
• Understanding of confidentiality principles is compulsory.

We are looking for a reliable Resident Building Maintenance Worker to join our Maintenance Team!

The Resident Building Maintenance Worker will reside within “The Waterstone” apartment complex in Chilliwack. You will be responsible for the general overseeing of the day-to-day care of MQHS properties, its units, and grounds of the building. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be skilled with various hand and power tools.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting routine inspections of premises
• Performing preventative maintenance
• Handling basic repairs and maintenance - leaky taps, replace and/or repair plugged toilets
• Janitorial such as vacuuming, washing windows, sweeping, mopping, and waxing
• Suite preparation at move out; clean and paint suite as required

Maintenance Worker Requirements:

• Proven maintenance experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Interact effectively and tactfully with people of various backgrounds and cultures
