days to go through all of their stock. Never had I seen this amount of Jewellery in one establishment – at least not until then. It did not take long for me to develop a great rapport with the family and for them to realize that I was very trustworthy. Soon, I was offered Jewellery on consignment which allowed me to start a small Jewellery venture and begin selling Jewellery to my friends and family. Before I knew it, I started hosting home/work Jewellery parties, attending community shows, bazaars, all while building an excellent client base. I wanted “Gold” as part of the name but was not sure about the rest. It was with the help of my wonderful parents that “Gold’n Glitter” (GnG) is the business name that I chose and registered. A request for an Orthodox cross led me to search for a jeweler that sold crosses. I was lucky to have found a supplier with 2 Orthodox crosses. From that point on, the word spread very quickly within the Serbian community. As more people asked for things, my interest grew in serving the broader Serbian communities. I was the first in my community to set up a booth and sell Jewellery at Serbian Festivals which were held in Ontario, British Columbia and Alberta – up until 2019. I was very fortunate and blessed to have met many nice people over the years, many of which have become long- time friends and like family. Many clients have also referred us to their friends and family in the United States, Australia and England and, they became our long-time customers as well. As I became acquainted with more jewelers in the industry, I was able to add a greater assortment of Orthodox crosses and was able to provide an even greater selection to my customers. In addition, I started to sell Serbian Orthodox (4Cs) crosses, Serbian rings, Serbian eagle pendants, etc. This was in addition to the wonderful selection I had, and continue to have, of classic chains, bracelets, earrings, rings, pendants, etc. I also started doing new custom designs upon request and customized existing ones. However, I struggled a little bit as I was hand drawing my design concepts (I was not very good at it initially 😊) and then finding someone else to produce the graphic on the computer before I could get a metal mold done. Yes, this was frustrating at first but ...

In September of 1993, I met my future husband. He was a Graphic Designer working in POP marketing at a large retail company in Toronto. When he started his job, all art concepts and advertising were drawn by hand – and an amazing artist he was! It was only years later that his company started to use computers for graphic design. I never knew at the time, how much his talent would facilitate creating our designs and advancing Gold’n Glitter to have the largest selection of custom in-house designed Orthodox and Serbian crosses in North America and possibly across the globe. In September of 1994, we eloped and were married in Rhodes, Greece. To this day, we reminisce about our beautiful wedding day and the memories we created. Gold’n Glitter no longer struggled with creating designs by hand because there was a “designer in the house” 😊. From then on, the two of us worked very hard to produce custom, exclusive and exquisite Orthodox crosses, Serbian crosses and a whole lot more. Although this is our specialty, you will see from our catalogue (still not complete at the time of this writing) that our selection of classic Jewellery such as chains, bracelets, earrings, rings, anklets, charms, etc., keeps growing. In the summer of 1998, I took a bus ride to Ottawa (with a baby bump 😊) to start the registration process for a Gold’n Glitter (GnG) precious metal Jewellery trademark as we planned to start producing our own custom pieces. We have invested a lot of time, effort and love in every piece that we have designed and produced. Our metal molds are of utmost quality showing the incredible and unparalleled attention to detail in all our custom pieces. Every one of our exclusive pieces is stamped with the GnG trademark. In addition, you can identify our custom designs on our website by the GnG Design watermark. Our pieces are only available through us and not available through other retailers or wholesalers. On December 31st, 1998 (should have come on December 19th 😊), my husband and I were blessed with a baby boy. This little bundle of joy brought such happiness to our families especially his Grandparents, Uncle and Aunt. Throughout the years, his interest in sports inspired us to create a sports Jewellery collection for soccer, basketball, tennis, etc., He has grown up to be a very creative young man and continues to inspire us to design and produce even more. He has assisted us with design ideas like blinging out our pieces and taking the photos needed for this site. Although we had photos taken in 2012 for many of our pieces, we have opted to use the photos taken by our son. Thank you Sunce! In 2012, we started to work on our website but were unable to create the website due to life’s events – both of us still working full time and our son competing in sports. However, over the past few years, we recognized more of a need to have a website. We started researching the best possible options to have our products online to provide our current and future clients with easier accessibility. Now that our website is on the horizon (I can’t believe it myself 😊), we hope that our current and future clients are pleased to have access to our exclusive custom designs and other products. You may not be able to see us at the festivals/shows but our website has been designed to provide you with the next best thing – an enjoyable shopping experience while viewing our site and products.
