Swanky Rustique
Finding quality furniture and giving them new life!!
Here is a small project I did for a client of mine. I used paint I had on hand and mixed the colors to get this beautiful deep blue. She wanted lightly distressed and was thrilled how it turned out.
See the before and after photos.
This antique buffet / console is another piece I just finished. This was one of mine and my husband's first piece of furniture we bought when we moved into our first house. Unfortunately, we have no space for it and we have been desperately decluttering. Lots more project to do!!
This secretary desk was my grandparents and my sister Vicky asked me to paint it for her daughter. My niece is getting a bedroom makeover and it'll look great. Unfortunately the photo with the glass door is blurry, so, Vicky I need you to take a great stage shot for me and post it here! See the before and after pictures.
Summer is almost over and my husband and I have been really busy renovating a 1965 Vintage Trailer and we're still not done! But when we finish it, it'll be really nice. I'll post the before and after photos upon completion. We'll probably even rent it out next summer!
Here is my latest project and unfortunately I forgot to take the before pictures. This is large Black Dresser with 10 Drawers. I changed the k**b to really pretty brass k**bs which gives a nice contrast. I replaced all the plastic "bumper" (not sure what they're really called) attached to the rail, to new ones and the drawers glides well.
Hope everyone is well and safe!!
Here's a great find at a thrift shop in Beaconsfield. I saw this shelf on wheels and had a vision for it. The man at the store told me that his other co-workers didn't even want to accept it because they didn't think anyone would buy it. Well, we both proved them wrong! Have a look at the before and after photos.
It's been a while since I posted anything do to the fact that I have been busy with three extra people at home! Hope everyone one is doing well through the quarantine and keeping safe. I managed to finish this dresser which I love the blue and white contrast along with the crystal k**bs I added. Unfortunately I forgot to take a before photo, but the dresser had a forest green stain which didn't look great. The dresser is solid maple which is pretty heavy. I also had to do some restoration with the help of my husband. This one is up for grab. Let me know what you think!!
I refurbished a little dresser towards the end of January and it didn't have much activity on it. So I decided to try something new where I painted on stripes and numbers on the drawers. I was a little nervous doing this, but it seems to have turned out well. Let me know what you think!
Hope everyone is keeping safe during these trying days!!
Here's a sideboard / console I just completed. Painted in white and added black k**bs. This one was a nice quick project. Posted it last night and can't believe the number of responses that are coming in!
Just recently finished this cute farmhouse nightstand. This was done with chalk paint and finished with wax. Love the details on this table. Last photo is how the nightstand looked before.
For Sale.
Beautiful Refurbished Cedar Chest!
So here it is! Top was sanded with a top notch stain, the rest was painted with chalk paint, then coated with wax and lightly distressed. Oh, I forgot to mention in the last post that there is a bottom drawer. This could be perfect behind a sofa or at the foot of a bed. Let me know if you like it. I might have a hard time giving this one up....
Here's a another before photo of a cedar chest I picked up which look really tired. Stay tune for the next post for the after photos.
Here's the before picture.
Don't you like looking at before and after pictures? Here's a cute farmhouse dresser I did with chalk paint and love how it turned out. This is for sale - please spread the word!! And yes, that's one of my three dogs under the dresser in one of the photos.
This dresser is more of the Farmhouse style which is my favorite. Sanded the top and use the best stain out there that wears really well. I'll have more coming soon!!
Mid Century Vintage Dresser. I love how this one turned out with the black satin paint that gives an elegant look. The brass on the dresser were quite tarnished and I'm thrilled how beautifully they polished up. This one is up for grabs!!
Welcome to my Story
For those who don’t know me, my name is Tanya and I grew up in a family where there was an abundance of diverse creative members, from artists (painting & acting) to photographers and myself a graphic designer. These creative genes continues to move on to the next younger generation with their own unique creative knack. Over six years ago, my husband and our two kids move to a charming Canadiana style home that needed some TLC. The two of us being hands on, started putting some loving into our home. Over the years, we worked on our house bit by bit to transform it, more to our own. As I was sanding and staining wood, painting cabinets and furniture, I realized that this was something I really enjoyed doing. One night over a glass of wine (or two? Or?) We were admiring the furniture and room transformations that we recently finished and realized that we should continue picking up quality furniture and refinishing them and start a new venture.
So here I am ......
