Late afternoon walk on the mountain, half of Montreal was there. Likely the last 24 degree day for awhile. Lighting was amazing.

Many of you know about the wonderful retreats Daryl used to offer. I am so happy he will be back in his retreat facilitator seat for this retreat - as I always came away greatly enriched and transformed by the end of the weekend. The fact that this retreat is five days is...exciting.

Meet the facilitators: Daryl Vansier

"Over the years of my practice of offering my services to be an agent in the healing process of my clients and students and a guide/mentor supporting the fruition of their unique gifts, my biggest reward was not the validation of financial compensation or their becoming regular clients.

The relief of their ailments, whether physical or psychological, was certainly gratifying but what particularly inspired me was to hear afterwards, sometimes years later, how their lives had changed from using the tools I shared with them.

People pay a lot of money for experiences whether it be travelling to an exotic location, attending a concert or enjoying a great meal, but value-wise these are often short-lived experiences.

Many years ago I travelled mainly to attend workshops or trainings. A friend suggested that I try just going on a regular vacation. I did this more than once and while they were certainly fun experiences, they felt relatively empty compared to my workshops and trainings where I emerged with self-healing and empowering tools that I use to this day and joyously share with others.

I am eager for you to experience what Natalie Vansier, Libby Parker and I have to offer you in our upcoming retreat. So excited to be facilitating this retreat with Natalie and Daryl. Here is a bit of my origin story, of what drew me to this work and why I have devoted my life to it.

Meet the Facilitators: Libby Parker

“In 1993, I picked up a pamphlet that I had been saving for two years. I had just returned to Montreal from a stay in Nova Scotia where I went to look after my dying mother. It was a time of deep change. I realized the only way that I wasn’t going to start to feel “old” was if I lived my life fully each day the way I wanted to.

In my life, I had witnessed that unresolved regrets can prematurely age people. So, I picked up the phone and dialled the number on the pamphlet and began a journey that has spanned 29 years.

Psychosynthesis spoke to me immediately. The founder, Roberto Assagioli, wrote about exactly the challenges that I was facing. Here is an excerpt from my application from 1993:

"I have been unable to reconcile my self-awareness with my continued unhealthy behaviour (habits). Although over time this has increasingly improved, I have been protecting myself from this pain so tightly that I am loosing circulation in my life. My world has become small, intense and stressful; stressful from judging myself, comparing myself to who I should be, and yet being painfully unable to change."

This process changed my life. If you resonate with some of what I felt and how deeply I was stuck, there is an abundance of wonderful healing modalities out there – you just have to find the one that speaks to you.

So this journey has been about growth, discovering myself and loving what I have found. It has been a journey about love. Who am I? I am a woman who was very fortunate to come across a flyer in a bookstore that changed her life. I am a woman who learned that teaching even one person in a family to learn to live with less fear can change the world for children. I am a woman who has learned, and lived, that it is possible to change.

Seventeen years ago Assagioli set me off on my journey with just four simple words: ”from pain to peace.”

Psychosynthesis is based on simple but powerful techniques. The tools that characterize Solutions from Within/Libby Parker courses and private psychotherapy sessions such as imagery, visualization, expressive writing and mindful meditation will also form the basis of Libby’s retreat workshops.

Can't let Siblings Day go by (even though I am a day late! ) without including these guys! So grateful for my family and family visits which thankfully includes our cousin. Am not posting this lightly as I know many miss family on such occasions. So, feeling grateful for my siblings and feeling sad at the same time for loved ones no longer with us.
