On vacation to visit family over the holidays

This was the biggest, most beautiful dandelion I have seen. It was about 2 inches in diameter! Spotted in Idaho in July.

A beautiful female mountain bluebird spotted at West Thumb Geyser Basin. I've never seen one before, this was so exciting for me!

This beautiful bison was waiting for us in between the outhouses at Midway Geyser Basin. They are all over the park, sometimes in surprising spaces. Be careful, and give them lots of space!

Grand Prismatic Spring in all its colourful glory!

Another of Grand Prismatic Spring 🤩 love the colours!

I'll do a few posts for the Grand Prismatic Spring, because you just can't capture its beauty in one shot. It is the second largest Spring in the world and the largest in North America.

This is the lower end of the Excelsior Geyser Crater, where it starts to run into the Firehole River.

These are the Bobby Socks lodge pole pines at the lower geyser basin. When they were living they soaked up the mineral rich water from the thermal area. Now all that's left behind are the dead trees and the minerals they soaked up. Called Bobby Socks because it looks like they're wearing white ankle high socks.

This thermal feature at the lower geyser basin is called Sinter.
