Stop Gender-Based Violence
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is a grievous infringement of human rights and a critical health issue that affects millions worldwide. It manifests in various forms, from intimate partner violence to sexual assault, and its impact transcends the immediate physical injuries, leading to long-term psychological trauma and societal disintegration.
Non-profit organizations play a pivotal role in supporting survivors of violence. They provide essential services, advocate for policy changes, and raise awareness about the issue. Their work is crucial in creating a society where women can live free from the threat of violence.
In 2020 and 2021, the ACSA Organization, in collaboration with UN Women, launched sports project aimed at reducing GBV. This initiative was grounded in the belief that sports can be a powerful vehicle for social change and empowerment.
The ACSA Organization’s sports project, supported by UN Women, has been instrumental in reducing GBV by fostering a sense of strength and resilience through athletic training and competition.
By creating unity and solidarity among women through sports activities, the project has cultivated a supportive community where women can thrive in both personal and athletic endeavors.
In cities such as Kabul, Herat, Farah, Badghis, Takhar, and Balkh, the project has introduced women to sports like Taekwondo, Volleyball, Martial Arts, and Badminton, which have become platforms for empowerment and camaraderie.
The initiative has not only provided a physical outlet for women but has also promoted mental well-being and self-confidence, proving to be a formidable force in the fight against gender-based violence.
Through this project, women have been able to reclaim their agency and unite in solidarity, demonstrating the transformative power of sports in challenging and changing societal norms.
Gender-Based Violence is a complex issue that requires a concerted effort from all sectors of society. While significant strides have been made, the statistics show that much work remains to be done. It is imperative that we continue to fight for a world where women can live without fear of violence.

Social integration of women
Social integration of women, refugees, and newcomers through sports, arts, and entrepreneurship is a multifaceted approach that can foster inclusion, empowerment, and community cohesion.
Sports: Sports can serve as a universal language, breaking down barriers and building bridges among people from different backgrounds. For women, refugees, and newcomers, participating in sports can enhance their social networks, improve physical and mental health, and provide a sense of belonging. Initiatives like community sports leagues or intercultural sports events encourage interaction and mutual understanding.
Arts: The arts offer powerful means for self-expression and cultural exchange. They can help individuals from diverse backgrounds to share their stories, preserve their cultural identities, and contribute to the cultural richness of their new communities. Artistic endeavors such as community theater, music workshops, and art exhibitions can be instrumental in highlighting the talents and perspectives of women, refugees, and newcomers.
Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurship enables individuals to become economically independent and contribute to their host societies. For women, refugees, and newcomers, starting a business can be a pathway to integration, allowing them to utilize their skills and experiences. Supportive measures like entrepreneurship training, mentorship programs, and access to microfinance can help them overcome challenges and succeed in their entrepreneurial ventures.
These activities not only assist in the social integration of these groups but also enrich the broader community by promoting diversity, understanding, and shared experiences.
