Equine and Paint Workshop Unleash your creativity and confidence with Equine Assisted Learning, meditation, and painting. A day of self-discovery awaits!
Sometimes we forget that we can take a moment to reflect, before we react. Take a deep breath before we say something in anger. Check your automatic knee-jerk reaction to jump in and take over to clean up the mess... etcetera.
The pause is where we get to check in with ourselves and make a choice in how we want to show up.
The pause helps us to listen in and hear what we need, what is important.
In what ways does a pause help you?
Wishing you a relaxing, energizing day this Canada Day!

How will you water the grass you are standing on today? What can you do to take care of yourself?
Let me know in the comments!
I have found that coaching and being coached are both beautiful adventures!
Gaining insights into myself and the way I show up as a coach. Gaining insight into the person I am coaching, the person I am coaching gaining insight into themselves and how things work for them.
Seeing women grow more confident, finding out how they really feel about things and what they really need and want, and being able to voice these needs.
Women realizing they are more than all the things that they do, and choosing to feel worthy no matter what.
Brave observations and realizations, brave choices and brave actions!
I love my work! (Almost as much as I love drinking tea โ๐!)
What coaching is.... And what coaching is not.

Nature is really out there having a party! ๐ฅณ ๐
Pausing to notice and photograph flowers and the small things I see on my walks is something I do regularly.
It helps me slow down, really be present in the moment, and notice my surroundings.
It takes me out of my head, my to-do lists and my ruminations and replaces this with small joys, wonder and appreciation.
How do you get out of your head? Let me know in the comments!
๐๐๐ Happy Earth Day!๐ ๐ ๐
Every day is Earth Day. Not just today, when everyone seems to post something on their feed about it, and big corporations make a big deal of talking about it.
The earth needs our actions, not just our words.
What small actions could we take, to take better care of our home planet?
It's the only one we have....
Think about it:
How often are you just by yourself?
How often do you have a quiet moment, to yourself in a day?
A moment where you can be alone with your thoughts and your feelings, a moment without pressure from all kinds of external influences?
I'm guessing most of us do not have many of these pockets of time in a day....
But they can be so precious! A valuable pause, to get to know ourselves better, to reflect, to be able to respond instead of react and make choices that better fit how we want to live our lives. These small moments give us agency, and a little bit of control over our thoughts and behaviors and more confidence in our abilities.
Seeking out time to be alone with yourself can be a precious gift to yourself. And you'll see: you'll start to enjoy your own company as you discover it! โค๏ธโค๏ธ
Don't know where to start?
Shoot me a DM and we can talk about it.
Come, take a walk with me....
Hi, I'm Ilja, and I am lucky!
Life has given me so many beautiful roles to take on. Some of my favourite roles are: wife, mom, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, artist, cook and after being a residential social worker for 23 years, I am now a certified professional coach.
I am passionate about supporting people, to find their unique path in this thing called life.
The roles we have taken on, aren't always easy, there is conflict, confusion and hurt or sometimes we might feel that there are roles missing from our lives. Sometimes we have lost our sense of Self among all the roles we are expected to play.
There are times when we need a bit of support to rediscover our Self, find out which roles we'd like to take on and look for our own unique way of fulfilling them.
This is where my coaching comes in.
I coach mostly outside, walking in a green space.
Our coaching sessions are a moment for you to catch your breath, take you (briefly) out of your circumstances and into another environment. A moment just for you. Space for all that you are carrying and an invitation to dream. A container where you can plan and then take steps toward a more balanced, fulfilled and joyful life.
Walking and coaching will help set you in motion, in your body, but also in your thoughts, feelings and actions.
Feel like a walk and a talk?

The weekend is on the doorstep! How will you spend it? How will you allow yourself to rest a bit, after a busy week?
Nature teaches us the power of rest and restoration. Life in nature goes in cycles. Cycles of hard work, of growth, of output, and then a cycle of retreating, protecting, nursing and preparing.
How can we learn from nature, to alternate between busy-ness, hard work and rushing, to slowing-down, turning Inward and nurturing?
Just some nature for your viewing....
Studies have shown that being in nature, or even just looking at pictures of nature scenes, can be restorative for our brains. Nature captures our fascination, without demanding anything of us. This is called "soft fascination". It helps to reset, relax, reduce stress and improve attention.
They say a little kindness goes a long way, and if you think of it as a ripple effect, how many people could you touch?!
What random act of kindness could you do today?
Such beautiful weather this morning!
It has been a busy week and it was nice to get out for a walk, to slow down and be present.
I took a path I hadn't taken before and made pictures of the beauties I saw along the way.
The perfect way to re-energize and reset!
Now onto some painting this weekend! ๐
Happy Monday! How can you be kind to yourself and still get the things done that you want to get done this week? Here are a few things to help you get started.
โจโจ
Mid-week reminder to be kind to yourself.
Yes, there are times when you need to power through, but it is not sustainable to ask peak performance of yourself every hour of every day.
There is a difference between "doing your best" and "doing or being something perfect". A lot of times these two get mixed up. I know most people want to do their best, put in the effort and time to make things work in the best possible way. But when "doing your best" starts to look more like perfectionism, that's where you get into trouble.
Perfectionism is born of fear. Fear of not being good enough, of not being accepted, of being judged. You want to do things perfectly, not make any mistakes, to avoid criticism, or even constructive feedback.
Anything to make sure your fragile self-esteem comes out unscathed.
I have been there. It's an unsure and stressful place to be. It is the place where you burn out, making sure you are living up to everyone's expectations (including your own high standards).
"Doing your best" is rooted in your core belief that you are enough, just as you are. You put in the work, you put in the effort and that is enough. You are enough. When people question you, it doesn't feel like an attack on you, personally, but an opportunity for reaffirming yourself or for growth.
Wouldn't it be freeing to live like that??
It starts with listening to your feelings, and asking what they are telling you. They are asking for kindness and gentleness, to yourself and to others.
How will you be kind to yourself and others the rest of this week?
What if you believed this about yourself?
What would you like to begin? What would you like to do more of?
Know that you are special and unique, just the way you are. No one else is you! The world needs, who you are ๐๐ค๐
Today is Bell let's talk Day, an initiative focused on creating positive, lasting change for people struggling with their mental health.
This conversation shouldn't be limited to just today.... awareness, acceptance, de-stigmatizing mental health issues, and access to care goes farther than just today. So let's keep the conversation going!
What will you do for mental health and well-being today and other days?
Please share in the comments!
I'll start.
If you are in crisis, please go to the nearest hospital or call 9-1-1.
Thank you for your support in the past year, and I will continue to support you in the New Year, with coaching, Slow-down walks, workshops and more!
Every day is a new day.... To try again, to discover new opportunities and to move towards what matters most to you.
Wishing you all the best for 2024.
I am excited for what is to come!

Being creative doesn't mean you have to be an established artist. Making something, creating something from nothing can bring so much joy!
Whether it's a doodle that you colour in, a few beautiful sentences you write in your journal, or cookies you bake for when the kids come home or your friend comes over, all of it is creative and meaningful.
Enjoy!
