I heart sun-kissed sweaters ❤️☀️

Happy September ❤️ it’s one of my 2 favourite months. I’m excited about the Sleeping Bear Sweater, and I can’t wait to finish/wear it. I actually thought this cozy number up while I was in a yoga class 🧸. Thank you this one is inspired by you and obviously the sleeping bear pose. 💕

Another share! The Laurel Lace Cardigan, currently being tech edited but soon needing testers.

The one really has my heart, it’s feeling like a staple piece ❤️

Ancient Greeks viewed laurel leaves as a symbol of victory, while to the Japanese, laurels represent inner peace and enlightenment. With this seamless, top-down knit, you can have both a sense of amazing accomplishment and the zen-like experience of a rhythmic pattern. There’s enough texture for an engaging knit without too many challenges, since even the raglan increases at the yoke are worked with a simple yarn-over, while the edges are worked with a twisted rib. The collar, hem, cuffs and button band, with pretty laurel leaves climbing its fringes, are seamlessly incorporated. This elegant, size-inclusive cardigan is as classical and timeless as a greek marble…and much easier to wear!

Each spring, Ostrich Ferns (Fiddleheads) raise a hopeful filigree of new fronds along the sodden banks of New Brunswick’s St John River. Foragers like my father, collect this most seasonal of delicacies. Like Fiddlesheads, these socks are hardy but beautiful, with an elegant fern-like lacework, but strengthened by the sturdy, contrast colour Eye of Partridge heel and a Kitchener stitch finish for the toe closure. Worked from the cuff down, they are a great pair of socks for the adventurous beginner.

I’ve never knit baby clothes before. We have a new niece in the family, her name is Elodie. I was actually inspired by the beauty of her name to knit her something. It’s almost finished! 💕💕💕

I’ve been waiting out the storms for the past few days before attempting a 13 hour road trip to the East Coast with my pups. Archie and Flossie. Wish us luck when we venture out tomorrow around 5AM! ❤️

I wore the Garden Party Top yesterday in the July heat while picking peonies from my garden, I’m thankful for cotton knits and eyelets because they add an airy texture and I could comfortably wear the Garden Party Top all day.

Whether my handmade knits will actually be wearable is something I often worry about and it’s probably why I love summer knitting, all the cotton, linen, and silk yarn these days makes it possible to wear so many more warm weather garments
