I don't think anyone! Even ppl who don't like plain vanilla and plain chocolate seem to love this one.

I dedicated yesterday to my daughter for completing her first set of final exams at high school. Can't believe time has flown by so fast. I still remember my first day at high school and all the memories I've made since.

We are people who love celebrating all occasions with food hence red velvet cupcakes for celebrating end of exams.

Chess pie is actually 'just pie' which is a dessert from the south of US.. from the custard pie family.. didn't know till I had it when my cousin brought it over.. I was determined to try my own take on it.. added some spice and served it as a fall dessert. Still have to try a few times to perfect my hand at it.

Ps. I love the cinnamon and pecans in the filling and the butter in the crust!

Fall is beautiful but at the same time reminds me of the passing of life. The gloomy and rainy days make me feel low and lazy. How does it affect you?

I love love love Falooda on hot summer days and can have it as a drink or dessert. Love the different textures that bring together this yumminess!

Spring brings to mind fruits and flowers. We had oranges on hand and so decided to make orange cake using an aunt's recipe. Also we like mint tea in the summers (cinnamon in the winters) and since evenings start to become longer, it's nice to have tea time, instead of jumping straight to dinner. My daughter prepared the cake and also helped me prep and take the shots. She was excited to add the candied orange slices (her first attempt at it)

PS. This cake was also different bc it contains a whole orange (grinded) instead of zest and juice.

It's already half way through Ramadan, and I'm sure we all regret that we've not made the most of it. But we still have the second half, so let's challenge ourselves and get through it with more ikhlaas and more good deeds!
