✨TEXTURE on straight, heavy hair that falls flat✨ Lots of slide cutting, ghost layers on the inside of the hair and dry shampoo with a little pinching on the ends for the piece-y effect ✂️

Most traditional haircutting ignores the inside of the hair where the heaviness sits and focuses on the outside layers ✨ This does nothing for movement. The hair has to breathe 🍃 and if the client is looking for lighter hair that’s easy to manage, the only way to achieve it is by slide or razor cutting on the inside to create movement.

Funny I wrote this ✨10✨ years ago and it STILL stands 🙌🏼 It was the opening chapter to a book I was writing but my lack of focus got the best of me and I never finished the book, and now it makes for an Instagram post 👌🏼

Staying small means you pay attention to the little things. Because the little things add up to the big things. There are no big things. Every house is built brick by brick, piece by piece, and so is your life.

It’s about how you feel during the day. Your little mundane routines. The little ways you help others when no one is looking. How you talk to yourself. How you listen to your intuition. This was my first one bedroom apartment ever as an adult. It was in Oakville ON. I loved this space. It gave me so much peace. I bought all my furniture off FB marketplace and somehow it all came together. I started my content creation journey here. I started running, spinning classes, focused on becoming a better haircutter and taking good care of myself. I eventually had to move though. After a couple of years of lockdowns and insane inflation, I couldn’t stop thinking of the UAE. I was literally dreaming of the UAE and wanted to leave so bad, knowing I would have a better life on the other side of the world. It wasn’t easy though. I knew that staying in Canada was giving me so much depression that it was just not worth it anymore. There was no future I could look forward to. I would rather take a huge risk than remain in a place that I knew in my gut was not for me. I love Canada. It’s one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but living in it is SO difficult. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way right?

I fall in love with Canada every time fall rolls around because it’s literally the most beautiful freshest air and light breeze and you get a little bit of warmth but it’s not hot and gorgeous nights that are not too cold. The falling leaves and the happy people strolling on coffee and dog walks 🧡 The sun just feels so good on my skin ☀️

I hope everyone finds their way.✨ I want humanity to do better and be better. I want people to learn to think critically. I want psychology, philosophy, business and personal finance to be taught in schools. I want generosity to trump selfishness. I want people to come together to help one another. I want women to stop saying sorry and speak assertively. I want creativity to have more merit. I want everyone to realize they are creative in their own way. I want everyone to realize they don’t need to rely on something outside of them to show them the way because we each have our own inner wisdom that knows what’s best for us. I want you to have the courage to claim your dream. ✨ I want walkable cities with parks and bookstores and local coffee shops. I want travel to be affordable because everyone deserves to experience the beauty of this planet. I want people in authoritative positions to not confuse rudeness with assertiveness. I want you to let frenemies go because they’re jealous of you.✨ I want you to celebrate yourself, to find the beauty in the mundane. To accept where you are and think “damn, I’m cute and intelligent and kind and there is no one else like me”, and to take this moment and run with it because every moment is infinite.
