One of the few successes I've had this year is the Minnesota midget melon (cantaloupe) .

It was very tasty. I saved the seeds for next year.

The basil is doing well. Soon it will be harvested.

The peppers are growing nicely. They'll be turned into paprika.

Tomato harvest

Roma, pink bumble bee and Orangeville tomatoes

Photos from Smith Farms's post 09/09/2023

My melon crop has been hit with a blight. I grabbed the large one in hopes it would be ripe but no luck with that. I was able to save the seeds. It's a Montreal Melon

This morning's harvest

Orangeville tomato, roma from our garden beds and containers, pink bumblebee cherry tomatoes and cucamelons

An interesting observation:

The four roma tomatoes at the top of the image came from the plants growing in containers and they are noticeably smaller than the ones below them which were grown in the ground

Pickles

08/25/2023

These are some great cherry tomatoes.

I believe they are pear cherry tomatoes but I prefer to call them "Orangeville Tomatoes". They will sometimes turn a darker colour that is closer to orange.

They also grow well and rarely suffer from blossom end rot.

I'll make sure I save the seeds from them to make available for everyone next year
