Smith Farms
An urban "farm" trying to create awareness about the benefits and fun of growing your own food.
One of the few successes I've had this year is the Minnesota midget melon (cantaloupe) .
It was very tasty. I saved the seeds for next year.
A large oregano harvest.
A snack from the garden for my rabbits.
Sage, fennel, strawberry leaves, rosemary, basil, lettuce, raspberry.
The flowers in the front yard look great
The basil is doing well. Soon it will be harvested.
The peppers are growing nicely. They'll be turned into paprika.
Garden progress.
Apples are looking good. We have sweet William flowers finally growing and the sage plants are in full bloom

Last carrot harvest of the season, December 15
Our indoor growing set up to hopefully keep rosemary, a fig and a pepper alive during the winter
some peppers were still alive inside the greenhouse
i have caribbean, paprik and vietnamese peppers.
I found some scarlet runner beans growing on the fence and some fennel seeds
Likely the last tomato harvest of the season
Everyone's favourite pleasant smelling weed, lavender, is still flowering.
Pumpkin, apple, squash harvest
Second donation from the garden to the Orangeville Food Bank Orangeville Food Bank
Our extra batch of tomatoes were donated to the Orangeville Food Bank
Peppers, seeds and lunch box.
A picture perfect paprik pepper.
Apple harvest
More carrots and tomatoes
Tomato harvest
Roma, pink bumble bee and Orangeville tomatoes
My melon crop has been hit with a blight. I grabbed the large one in hopes it would be ripe but no luck with that. I was able to save the seeds. It's a Montreal Melon
This morning's harvest
Orangeville tomato, roma from our garden beds and containers, pink bumblebee cherry tomatoes and cucamelons
An interesting observation:
The four roma tomatoes at the top of the image came from the plants growing in containers and they are noticeably smaller than the ones below them which were grown in the ground
Pickles
These are some great cherry tomatoes.
I believe they are pear cherry tomatoes but I prefer to call them "Orangeville Tomatoes". They will sometimes turn a darker colour that is closer to orange.
They also grow well and rarely suffer from blossom end rot.
I'll make sure I save the seeds from them to make available for everyone next year
First carrots of the season
