International Hockey News: This morning in their 3rd preliminary match against Korea, EO Junior Stars' Natasha Dubé led Team Australia to a 3-0 win with a beauty of a hat trick! It is always exciting to hear her name announced after a goal, but there is certainly something special with three!

The East Ottawa Stars High-performance program in collaboration with the GCGH is launching a new program designed to increase the number of women in coaching positions within its association.
With a focus on training, mentoring and empowering women behind the bench, the mentorship program is about strengthening and positively impacting the women’s game.
This recruitment and retention initiative is built on the core idea that good things happen when girls get in the game.
Self-confidence, health, social connections, and academic performance all improve when girls get on the ice.
We are actively looking for high performance female players who would like to start giving back.
What’s the commitment? Depending on availability, it can be as an assistant coach or as an on-ice helper.
How does it work? Get the coaching certification and the mentorship in order to eventually take on leadership roles within the association.
When does this start? Immediately.

Dan Tessier has just signed a 2-year extension to his contract with the East Ottawa Stars as Junior Head Coach and GM. He will continue to establish the EO Stars High-Performance program within the Gloucester-Cumberland Girls Hockey Association and bring more opportunities to play high level Junior hockey to the community.

Since the program has been started, we have seen great success and look forward to seeing more success with Dan’s future plans.

Big news for East Ottawa Junior Stars forward, Natasha Dubé as Team Australia announced their U18 roster for the upcoming IIHF U18 Div 1 Group B World Championships! Natasha will be representing Australia in January in Jaca, Spain.

Natasha has previously played with Team Australia twice, bringing home a Bronze medal (and Tournament MVP for her team) in 2022. In 2023, she brought home a GOLD medal!

U18 has three players representing their 2023/24 team at Snipe City! Kakwi Thomas, Tegan Thompson and Avery Ronberg are showing all those university coaches that EO Stars are serious business!

Natasha Dubé and Janelle Mentor are representing the 2023/24 EO Junior Stars team in Whitby right now at the Snipe City Showcase! They are participating in some skills sessions and games coached and scouted by University coaches!

Show them what you can do, ladies!

U15 veteran Alexandra Grabowy is representing EO Stars this weekend in Chicago at the CCM 68 Two Nations event. She was invited as one of a handful of players from the Ottawa area to represent Canada with some of the best 14 year old players in the country.

BIG NEWS!!! East Ottawa Jr Stars goaltender, Ava Cruikshank has just signed with Brock University to play with the Badgers! We couldn't be more proud of Ava right now. It just goes to show what some hard work and determination on and off the ice can accomplish!

Gloucester Cumberland Girls Hockey (GCGH)

EO Stars Juniors' Assistant Coach, Anne Alary is away this week, coaching in the OWHA High Performance U16 development camp. Anne was previously an assistant coach in the Ontario Summer Games in 2022.

It is an incredible accomplishment being selected to participate in these camps for athletes and coaches alike. Congrats Anne!

What better way to cap off an amazing season than to be recognized with an invitation to the OWHA U16 HP camp as one of the handful of goalies representing all the best in Ontario? Way to go Anna Rioux! Everyone at EO Stars is behind you!

East Ottawa Stars would like to congratulate Annabelle Kruzich for being invited to the OWHA High Performance Summer Development/Tryout camp in July. She will be trying out for a spot on the 2 teams competing in the National Championships.
