My client Adam this morning hitting a PR on the Leg Press with an impressive 12 plates!! This guy shows up to every workout on time, with a great attitude and minimal complaining lol. He has a busy life with two young children at home and he still makes the time to get in the gym and put in the work. Congrats brother, the hard work is paying off.

Just finished my cut of almost 6 months. I weighed 195lbs when I took the picture on the left & I’m currently sitting at 164lbs. It was hard work but I still made sure I had a social life and in the end was rewarded by being asked to do my first modeling shoot. More on that soon. Now it’s time to eat lots of carbs!

Started my pull workout today with b-stance RDLs. Using a b-stance is comparable to single leg or split leg exercise variations, but instead of one leg going at it alone, the back leg is there for some support and extra balance. Who’s going to try a b-stance in their next workout?

Exactly one year ago I packed a bag and boarded a plane as they were shutting down the border to Canada. Little did I know it would be 7 months before I would cross the country line again to say goodbye to friends and family.
So much has happened over the last year! I became a Canadian citizen, got a new passport, paid off all my credit cards and debt, started a training business and am now working full time as a personal trainer. What a roller coaster ride the last year has been and I’ll be excited when we can finally put this pandemic behind us.
Thank you (Merci) to everyone who made this journey possible and welcomed me to my new home with open arms!

Don’t forget about the 🍑! Glute muscles have a huge impact on your overall body strength; they help strengthen your core, and help to support a range of compound movements and exercises. Strong glute muscles also help prevent and avoid muscle imbalances that can lead to mobility issues. I train my glutes 2-3 times a week with different compound lifts, band work & isolated movements.

First one from our gym session. Frank wanted a selection of images that he could use for his social channels / website to promote his Personal Training business.
Blue being his favourite colour, I thought it would be cool to incorporate it into our shoot, so the third light in the setup had a blue gel attached and I love how it works in this image. Super fun session and awesome job by Frank as he powered through a variety of poses to get the look he wanted.

FASTING: DAYS 5,6 & 7
Ketosis has set in and with it have come energy and focus. Still have some hunger pains which I feel were more physiological than physical. Had some green juice & an apple on day 6 and talk about delicious! My taste buds are on fire right now. Haven’t needed caffeine & i’m working out everyday. I would say it was a successful fast! Can’t wait to eat some protein 😋

Took an hour walk along the beautiful Ottawa River today. People often ask me what the best type of exercise for fat loss is and my answer always is to put less calories in your body 😉. Yes, the more intense your workout, the more calories you will burn but that means nothing if you’re not eating at a calorie deficit. All exercise is good and can be used in a proper fat loss plan. If all you were able to do today was go for a 30 min walk then pat yourself on the back, you got out and exercised!! I walked in negative temperatures today, what’s your excuse?

Fasting Days 1 & 2: Fasting is when for a period of time you stop feeding the body externally and turn to internal sources. There are many health benefits that are associated with fasting and it’s something I’ve been curious about for some time. My girlfriend, who is a Certified Fasting Coach, will be mentoring me through this 5-7 day process where I will consume no food and only drink water & tea. If anyone is interested in fasting themselves please message me and I can get you in contact with her.

Halloween & clean eating can coexist with each other with a little creativity. This year with the lockdown & limited activities to do on Halloween we decided to stay in & watch movies while enjoying some healthy snacks. I present the pumpkin vegetable tray with hummus. Can’t believe it’s been 3 years! There are days when I can still picture that night clear as day. Excited to hear the great news that the settlement with the MGM is coming to a close & all those who were seriously injured or lost a love one will finally get a little closure. There’s a lot of chaos in the states right now but hopefully we can take some time today to remember that 60 people lost their lives 3 years ago today doing something they loved in what should have been a safe environment. Let’s try and honor them by being the best versions of ourselves and spreading a little love today.
