Full moon earrings 🖤 Ivory and sterling silver metal smithing ✨
So proud of this work. I’ve been focusing on metal smithing lately. It was a very tough piece to make with my skills. And to have my beautiful friend bring this piece to life was amazing.

´Roots’ New Collection ✨✨
Walrus tusk ivory. With sterling silver chainmail. I moulded and formed each one of those rings. Natural interior. A very rare cut because the tusk (at the root) is rarely thick enough to be able to be used.
One of a kind. Never to be repeated.
Thé chainmail technique is from midevil times and used to be used for soldiers armour.

New collection titled ´Roots’ ✨✨
Walrus tusk ivory cut from the root of the tusk. It’s very rare to find this cut as the ivory is usually too thin where the root meets the tusk, making these pieces one of a kind that will never be repeated.
All natural formations ✨

New collection about to be dropped ✨✨
Walrus ivory roots. I’ve been cutting ivory for over 15 years now and I have never been able to make this cut. It comes from the root of the tusk where it starts to hollow out. I’ve never seen one that was thick enough to allow a series. These are all cut from the same tusk.
The second élément of this collection is the sterling silver chainmail. It is a midevil metal technique that used to be used for soldiers armour.

The Mallard in all it’s glory 💜
My stunning collaboratrice .qamaniq who did the amazing beadwork. I designed and made the sterling silver framework 💜
This is our first prototype. Working on second one now. After that, it will be available for purchase on my site ✨ Also designing earrings to go with this concept. Stay tuned!
This is the sterling silver frame that I designed, rolled out, shaped and soldered for The Mallard piece I’ve been posting about. I’m super proud of it because just one year ago I wouldn’t have had the knowledge or skills to accomplish something like this all by myself! It is a huge thank you that I wanted to send out to my studio mate Ruben Komangapik for sharing and teaching me all these metalworking skills over the past year. We’ve been building and sharing a studio now for almost 16 months that we call Taava and it’s the best studio either of us has ever had ☺️ Even through all these covid lockdowns we continue to build and create. Can’t wait to see what the future years bring!!
A recent collaboration with the talented .qamaniq titled ‘The Mallard’. Her beadwork is inspired by the colours of a mallard duck. I metalsmithed the framework and attached her beadwork to play with a traditional Inuk necklace design. I have the utmost respect for beaders! This was absolutely one of the most precise pieces I have ever done. Especially after having to attach each bead to the frame and balance it all out. Incredible experience. More pics to come!
Love it when my customers are happy with their earrings and post such great pics 😊 They’re gorgeous on you girl!
Back in the House today for our final week of this sitting. Love my new muskox horn earrings made by Jamie Look Jewellery!!
The studio lately 😍 Helping Ruben make Qullik (Inuit oil lamps) So dusty! Reminds me of my old Frozen Rock Studio in Yellowknife 😉 Best part is, I get shown how to light one 😌
