We're having fun working on a little craft project to help raise funds for the dogs.... The amazing team at "Sit With Me" dog rescue group here in Ottawa had their hands full when a litter of huskies was born. Always up for the challenge, Sit With Me embraced the puppies and invited public sponsorship to help with the financial load of puppy care. Together with Ofelia Lamanna, PAWS sponsored one of the puppies and in return, we had the great pleasure of naming her.... Isla was the chosen name (pronounced "eye-la"). We got regular updates by email as the puppies progressed in the loving care of mama husky.... Now nine weeks old, the puppies are in the capable hands of their foster families. Imagine my delight when I discovered, by random coincidence, that two of the puppies, are being fostered right here in my neighbourhood... and YES, one of them is Isla, with her sister Ocean. Austin and Megan are the proud foster family... I met this incredible young couple whilst they were fostering Ben, whose medical needs stretched to two knee surgeries... These dedicated individuals met Ben's every need, providing him with frequent short walks, being mindful not to overstress his knees... I swear they were out walking ten times or more every single day. These puppies could not be in better hands.... Austin and Megan are the best foster parents EVER! Looking forward to seeing more of Isla and Ocean out in the 'hood as they continue preparing for their forever homes.
